The first ED is the best besides Blumenkranz and that's arguably Ryuuko's song.

OPs and EDs don't really count. They can tell stories, but they're not really in the series like the BGM. And it's not really arguable that Ryuko's song is anything but "Before My Body Is Dry".

There are at least two arrangements of "Blumenkranz" in the series. The first, from Ragyo's first appearance in episode 6 (via phone) is the one on the OST (minus some of the vocals). You hear it again in her first "true" appearance in episode 11 after Nui "drops in" between Ryuko and Sanageyama. The second arrangement, from That Scene, is on the Bonus CD that shipped with the Volume 1 video release. There are probably others, just like there are numerous different more score-like variations of Ryuko's theme, "Before My Body Is Dry", though most of those are less remixes or arrangements and more different songs that contain the same leitmotif.

There's (at least) one more soundtrack/bonus CD shipping with Volume 5, so there will probably be different arrangements off those themes on there, too.

Meh... It's better than the first one, but I've never been all that fond of the kind of songs that usually end up as anime OPs. Or vocalized anime music in general, really. It's why I prefer BGM. Or maybe it's because I didn't start noticing OPs until Cowboy Bebop and GitS:SAC and those spoiled me for anything else... ^_^

Yeah, I usually prefer listening to Anime/Game OSTs than Anime OP/ED XP

Not many OP/ ED got an instant like from me, but the new OP sure is one even during the first hearing. Instant goosebump. Already took 1st spot for best OP of this year (and will take real master piece to beat it)

It seems that the Blumenkrantz theme seems to always get folks going. I have to admit it's a pretty impressive theme and fitting for Ryago. Each time you hear it you know she's about to make an appearance. I can't see it any other way. But I have to admit that I enjoy listening to Don't Lose Your Way.

The thing that I'm most surprised by that the composer Hiroyuki Sawano did both this and AoT. Definitely the 2 best buys for me of 2014.

If you're talking episode 23, it's a remix/variation of the first half of KILL7la切ル (KILL nara Kiru), track 7 on the OST. This particular version wasn't on the OST or the first bonus CD (which had remixes of OST songs), but there are a few more bonus CDs coming, so I wouldn't be surprised to see it eventually.

As for earlier group transformations, I couldn't remember where to find one, but I imagine it's the standard version of the song.
