Let me clarify, I was just speaking from my own predictions. The fact that it's taking a two season break indicates to me that the next season will be two cour, given that Gundam 00 did the same for its split cour. I even predicted before this announcement that the second season would be aired in Summer instead of Spring because it will probably be two cour.

Also, even though Horizon's sold out at Amazon and other places, it's still managed to remain within the top 5 rankings on Oricon's daily char since it went on sale. It's weird how it's sold more units than T&B 8 everyday since their release besides the initial release date. I don't think it will necessarily outsale T&B 8, but that might be a sign that it might do more than the 15k most people are predicting. Volumes 2-7 are all in the top 40 on Amazon currently as well.

Oricon numbers come out on Tuesday Japan time right? The numbers will definitely be affected for week one, but cumulatively there wouldn't be any changes.

Actually, if T&B is anything to go by, this will increase the sales of the later volumes because more people have to buy those to get their hands on a BD of Horizon.

Btw, I've been wondering how much sale do a series like this need to consider as "profit"?

There's also a need to take into account potential depreciation/appreciation of overall sales going from S1 -> S2 -> S3, etc.

It's not too uncommon that sequels just lose some 'steam' among its fans... and are then unable to sustain the same overall sales per volume going into subsequent seasons.

Kawakami's blog only has Face load images for Elminage 2 though.
