I don't think so...
Although Negima!! live-action was not good, but I had to thank it because that show brought my friends became Negima! fans. If you watch with another eyes, maybe you like... a bit. Don't forget its concert at Shibuya-AX, I uploaded on Youtube.

And yes... other than for Ken A. who visited the set as often as he could to eat lunch with the girls - the series was pretty much a tragic disaster... I'll repeat an old sentiment -- sometimes I think the guy is like George Lucas, he doesn't really *get* his own creation (semi-joking there)

Does anybody what happened to Ichikawa Haruki and Matsunaga Hiroko (Setsuna and Konoka respectively)?
Also there was a rumour of there being a 3rd concert around now and does anybody know if these rumours hold true? The live action series was, to put it bluntly, not really meeting the expectations everybody had. However, Ichikawa Haruki as Setsuna paired with Matsunaga Hiroko saved the show, along with the Baka Rangers, Eva+Chachamaru and Negi of course. Although the acting from the adults was far worse than from the children - perhaps bar the Gakuenchou... All in all the series was alright, just a matter of bad luck that Ichikawa Haruki had to leave at episode 15 due to illness and therefore leading to Konosetsu moments and in fact almost any Setsuna screentime to be cut completely... A real pity. |

Someone decided to post something today. The last post before that (KimmyChan's) was back in APRIL!!!
An update though, I haven't found anyone who's subbed it. I have been checking round the place occasionally since April, and probably will keep doing so. I watched some raws of it on youtube, and it was quite entertaining (even with the awkward lesbian kiss between Setsuna and Konoka (bloody hell I remember the names). tl;dr: This thread was woken up today after 5 months of nothing. Since then, nothing new. |

For me, the Live action is a far better adaptation than the Negima?! serie.
The story was solid, I have laugh somes times. there is fan service, the actress who play Nodoka was really cute, Asuna have beautiful legs and many of the actress really fit to the character (especially Setsuna, Satomi, Konoka, Chisame, Evangeline, Kasumi, Inchou-san and Chachamaru) . The 2 only problem of the live action was: Shizuna sensei and the tears flashback (they are painful) I give an overall 6,5 to the live action, it was really Negima!!. It's maybe the best adaptation of the manga until now The first was average with bad animation but had a fantastic Sayo episode (better than the manga) and a marvelous ending, to, I hesitate between it and the live action for the best adaptation. PS: The live action is completly subbed on Veoh (search negima Parallel) |
