The gold on that Takemi is probably the result of them trying to replicate the orange shine of those parts.

Well, if it was a comparison to the Wing Commander TV animated series, they were right... That didn't really take off as well.

Wing Commander the game really shined because of both the characters and the plot as well. The evolution was quite well thought out, being based on old warriors left to peace. Too bad it left with a bang once HOtT died in game. I was modding it to give Macross Missile Massacres though.

Too bad that show never got the fame it deserved. If it were remade now after the success of the more recent Battlestar Galactica (a similarly-themed military sci-fi show) I'm sure it would have done better.

At least with anime we can have time out for onsen episodes, right?
