I'm kinda disappointed, Grace was an awesome villian... Guess we have no more despairs and nightmares.
Right. Finally got back a few hours ago, so let's see how I go with this. It's been a week since I saw the movie (could have tried to see it again last weekend, but I prioritised spending time with an old friend ^^)

You really shouldn't put that much stock in my Japanese skills. There was so much jargon by that stage that I just switched off (I struggle through all the technical parts of the TV series and the novels...). That said, my general impression on the villains is that

there were two factions trying to gain control of the Vajra for their own nefarious ends (the Frontier faction through LAI's research on the crystals, and the Galaxy faction through Ranka and Sheryl [by somehow combining Ranka's ability to produce fold waves and Sheryl's strong spirit]).

The "Onee-chan" refers to Grace (or rather, Inuoe Kikuko ^^; ), so I've edited the above for anyone still confused. Though I think that shouldn't be the case because a full summary has been posted..

And just like someone else mentioned somewhere earlier in this thread, I seem to remember seeing something about Yoshino on which girl Alto was leaning towards (for the TV series)... To be honest, based on that and something else that was translated around the initial broadcast of episode 17, I think Yoshino and Kawamori weren't all that different in their opinion on the triangle...

I felt that it started off with a good atmosphere (Ranka knew from Ozma that SMS was going on a company vacation to that beach/resort at the same time that she had a shoot there, so she made plans with Alto to hang out), but Alto kind of ruined it a little when Ranka brings up the question of "why did the Vajra not kill me'? (or something like that). Basically, he flipped out/laughed at Ranka's idea that the Vajra had emotions...
Even though he came around a little towards the end of that day, it never even came close to the Sheryl date in the first movie (and the TV series)
