Ya the movie was kind of a let down compared to the tv series, but hopefully the new movie makes up for the lack of development.

Can someone who knows things confirm to me Selecao 6's last name? The English sites have it as Naomoto, and the Japanese sites have it as Jikimoto.

Well there's not a lot either way, but you're right, it seems split between the Japanese and English sites.

It's not a common name, no one ever says his name, it doesn't appear on the official site. I would guess that someone on each side made a guess (assumption) and everyone else on that side copied it.

It's an interesting problem and may not have a solution.

Our usual approach to this kind of situation is statistical:

Searching for "直元" "ちょくもと" gives 24 results.
Searching for "直元" "じきもと" gives 49 results.
Searching for "直元" "なおもと" gives 7270 results.

So I would go with Naomoto. But it's certainly not definitive.
