That's splendid news. Haruhi's movie actually won for Best Motion Picture? xD

In Singapore, HARUHIISM has INVADED 2 prestigious local schools here, Raffles Institution (RI), a secondary school, and Raffles Junior College (RJC), which prepares its students for university life. This is for the Yahoo Time Capsule Project I believe XD

This paragraph made me chuckle:

P.S. My mother has Bouken Desho Desho? (Opening Sequence), God Knows.. (Episode 12 song), and Lost My Music (Episode 12 song) all sang by Hirano Aya-sama in her iPod. And she actually likes The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi..(She has Hare Hare Yuki as well.. the ending sequence) If that isnt some indication to start watching this anime, reading the light novels and worshipping Suzumiya Haruhi-sama, I don't know WHAT is ^^
Wow. Hip mum. :x

Interesting how The Anime Saimoe Tournament says otherwise. Which magazine was this from btw? Maybe that will give us some clue why there's a discrepancy.

Popular Female Character TOP1 : Suzumiya Haruhi

Popular Male Character TOP1 : Kira Yamato (Kyon still at #2)

What I'd like to know is the name of the anime that jumped from #16 to #2!

NGE... of course!

I haven't had the pleasure to actually learn how to read Japanese, I only recognize a paltry few names... Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu and Zero no Tsukaima amongt them.

Thanks guys!!

That stereotypical supposedly moral hypocrit is more popular than one of the most witty anime leads in a while? Fucking fail.

The poll results sound like they're taken off the mainstream audience.

That'll be the only way to explain GSD's high rankings.. especially with Kira Yamato at top spot months after GSD ended.

Nice to see that MoSH's well-recieved in both the mainstream and otaku communities though.

NGE jumped because of the rumors of a remake/series of OVAs. Don't get all defensive just yet.

Actually, I think he is referring to Kira Yamato(GS/GSD) beating Kyon(SHnY).

Cheers.

He wasn't talking about NGE, he was talking about GSD, more specifically about Kira Yamato, who got the top in the Popular Male Character poll over Kyon who dropped to #2

EDIT: beaten to the punch!

Where did that one come from?

I was just saying that Kira sucks ass and shouldn't be anywhere near the top of any polls, except for maybe "lamest protagonist". The only male Gundam Seed character that I really liked was Mu La Flaga. The rest ranged from forgetable to terrible. There's no way that any of them shoud be higher on a popularity scale than Kyon, who like I said earlier, is one of the best anime protagonists in a while.

Eh, it sounds like TMoHS is getting more and more well known, so maybe by this time next year, Kyon will be at the #1 spot.

One of my fave animes, one of the most hilarious and craziest animes I've ever seen, but oooh so good! I loved it! I loved the way Haruhi indirectly showed her love and interest in Kyon. Kyon was my fave chara of them all. His laziness and "slow" attitude was just so percfectly fitting for him.

I really really hope there will be a season 2...!! What do you guys think?
