The ending strikes me as rather upbeat, which seems kind of contradicting considering, this being a Key work, the emotional stuff that's bound to come. A repeat of Clannad's Torch?
I very much liked the opening, though. Episode itself was enjoyable, of course it starts lighthearted before going into the heavy stuff but we already got a taste of it in the second half. It's not a good idea to get on the Cuckoogayer's wrong side. The narcolepsy attack was still kind of "get on with it already" but at least it's much better compared to the first season's. Also, did they change Mio's VA or am I hearing things? It's strange that I've been looking forward to this so much. I didn't like the first season much until the final quarter or so, even dropped it for a while after episode 14. Meanwhile I've rewatched the entire season and suddenly it's one of my favorites. I'm so pumped for this. |

Spoiler for Comparison to the game:
The quality seem to go up compare to the 1st season so that's good and I'd prefer it if we have some animation in the ED. I still feel the soundtracks are misplaced. :/ Mio's original VA from VN resume her role. Last edited by relentlessflame; 2013-10-06 at 13:04. Reason: removed hint about future content |

WOAH WOAH WOAH!!...DEM FEELS right there TT__TT
So that's the way they're gonna do this? Making the romance from Yuiko's route as something that already happened, and we'll only get flash backs? The first half was so much fun ...Smiling throughout. Then the second half with Kurugaya's anger, how she blew the door away and her face when scaring those 2 away was DAMN EPIC!!! The emotions were conveyed perfectly!! Loved the OP...ALL DAT FORESHADOWING!! And the ED was really beautiful :*) Komari and Kengo in uniform was sooo good!!! Thank u JC!! PLZ KEEP THIS UP!!! >_< Yuiko's route is 3 eps? I wonder how they'll do this??? Romance isn't 100% discarded yet!!!

I congratulate J.C for managing to have a happy opening that still fits with the Refrain theme. The chorus part was just amazing and while I didn't like Boys Be Smile that much at first, it's really growing on me each time I rewatch the chorus of the opening. Although I don't feel the same way for the ending, rather I feel like it doesn't fit Refrain's theme very well.
Am I the only one who thought Kyousuke was really high on the first part? Also, Kuru-nee's rape face...

Mixed feelings about this. On one hand I'm upset that they're still changing things, but on the other, some of the changes make sense given the way they're going with things.
Kurugaya snapping was as epic as I remembered it, and those two girls seemed even more annoying in the anime so it's a shame that the kick was directed at the door and not them... As others have mentioned, the ending doesn't feel right. Too upbeat. Way too upbeat. Clannad AS tried that and it left a sour taste in my mouth. Last edited by relentlessflame; 2013-10-06 at 13:06. Finally, Anego's arc! I've been waiting for so long. The way she took care of those bullies was beyond awesome. She's definitely my favorite female character in this show. I hope this arc won't be a dud like pretty much every arc in the first season.

Wow, this episode was all over the place mood-wise.
You have the amazingly upbeat pancake party, and then once the antagonists show up you get that severe music change. It's almost hilarious how quickly Little Busters! can shift moods from one extreme to the other. And wow... talk about your melodrama and your contorted faces. Those antagonistic girls overacted so much that it was hilarious. Kuruguya's door-destroying kick certainly was incredible. Anyway, strong start for ~Refrain~. I like the new OP.

Nice to see it back
Welcome back, Little Busters!
I'm not sure about the new OP. It is certainly pleasant to listen too, though it feels a biit melancholy to me. As for the episode itself, the pancake party was a lot of fun for me to watch. Everyone's personalities were on display, really helping me hook back in to the characters. Then we get our patented formula: I quite liked it, I had thought that Kurugaya would've just been recording everything again, but no... we get angry "USODA" face and kick for great justice. Crikey! She certainly does know how to manage people. Kurugaya was always the character that most fascinated me, other than Kyousuke, so I'm looking forward to how it all plays out. 9/10 for a fun and interesting return. |

Hmm... I watched the first season of LB and although I didn't find it bad I also didn't like it that much... I kinda have a lot of shows already on my list so is this gonna get better or I can prolly expect the same impact as S1?
Of course I'm asking the LB fans who know the story... so you guys think I won't like the rest if S1 didn't do it for me?

In theory it should be way better and have an actual emotional impact but the refrain route hasn't even begun yet and it will still take a while before it can actually start and of course they could still screw it up although it should be much easier to adapt.

Not sure how I feel about the first episode. On one hand, the last few minutes in the PA room are really interesting. I wonder how they'll do the rest of Kurugaya's arc?
