Well, IS is a moderate Harem series, after all.

Anyone ever wonder why should we need Harem in shounen LN series? I'd much prefer the one-girl road of Kaze no Stigma.

And picking route early is pretty much my modus operandi anyway, so whatever.

He makes it too easy to be blamed and the author does a horrible job at making him less of a bullseye. I have to admit the later novels seem to have a bit more thought put into them. But not enough, not without some heavy retconning. After all, Ichika is a lazy nerd with a trove of useless facts and a secret that not even he knows but he doesn't need to be that dense. The author just tossed it in there without making things fit. Even I gave him a few reasons to be dense.

And he really needs more character development. He hasn't changed a mediocum since day 1. Likewise, I make him less dense as i go along.

The harem genre has advanced. IS' cheap tactics no longer function in this day and age.

Looking through the past discussion about anti-feminist made me put this one out, to go with this theme.

Spoiler for Again, questionable antagonist:

The Judgement slows down, cruising across the sea that's littered with the remains of the Liliac Squadron while ahead is White Elf, floating in mid-air with his arms folded.

“What the hell are you doing!? Aren't you against the IS like us!?” The captain shouts through the ship's PA system.

With him standing between the ship and the IS Academy, the Aegis troopers hold back as they tend to the injured fellow trooper.

“Even so, I accept their existence, something you are clearly incapable of.” White Elf holds up his left arm. “Silvie, lend me your power!” The gauntlet armor opens and deploys the absorption field.

As it does, a thick energy beam descends from above the clouds onto the field, feeding White Elf with pure power as the seams of his armor emit bright ember glows. Both the Judgement's captain and the Aegis troopers are awed by the majestic sight which seemed like he was bestowed upon with power from the heavens.

“Expel System, full deploy.”

He brings up both arms as his armor opens, revealing bright ember-glowing frames within. The forehead gem and translucent frame lined across the helmet's sides also glow along with the armor frames.

Facing imminent attack, the Judgement deploys squads of Jabber drones across its deck and they begin to fire upon White Elf. Their attacks however, are rendered useless against the Elf's augmented barrier, leading to the captain growing desperate.

“Concentrate all fire on him!” He commands.

“Sierra, maximum output.” Elf's arms become engulfed in a ball of light which then fires an upward beam, forming a pillar of concentrated ember-glowing energy.

“He's shooting up?” Asks the injured trooper.

“He's not.” Mikoto answers. “That's a beam saber.”

“The IS are humanity's hope of reaching new worlds beyond our own. And I will not let petty excuses like you deny that.” Says White Elf.

“YOU BASTARD!!!”

White Elf throws both arms towards the Judgement, bringing down the massive beam upon the ship. The beam shreds the entire ship into oblivion, practically vaporizing it without leaving a single trace of its existence. The force of the beam's impact kick up waves that crash against the shores and ports lined along Tokyo Bay's perimeter.

- Two beam claws

- Two beam boomerang, mounted on shoulder.

- Two leg-mounted beam sword.

- One Tsurugi.

- Two beam saber

- One Beam Yari

- 6 Beam Kunai.

Total: 16 blades

Then again, we've seen gun that could be used by spinning the disk. A bit more crazy wouldn't matter.

Say, if we exposed someone to responsibility, they grow up, right? But can we fully predict the outcome?

Like Kouta, Kaito and Mitsuzane before the Inves threat.

I could see Chifuyu try to surround Ichika with as many good people as possible - a safety measure.

I could see that fail. Ichika's innate nature will play a big part in how he defines responsibility. We take parts of it from others but I think itbll be most influenced by Chifuyu.

But again, with all the dark things that surround Chifuyu, she might even consider herself as unfitting to be an older sister, which wouldn't lead to a good ending.
