Avi trimmer/splitter

i wanna split/trim (whats the difference) avi video file and i been through alot of them
im looking for one that trim a custom start/end time without lost of quality

i finally found SolveigMM video trimmer
(http://www.free-codecs.com/AVI_Trimmer_download.htm)

very simple and easy to manage but for some reason after i trimmed the file and play back the piece it plays the video really fast, like 3 times the original speed
but the audio plays at normal speed

anyone help with this problem

any other good programs out there?

Try VirtualDub, and remember that you can only cut at an I-frame (aka "keyframe", marked with a "K" in VDub) or the last P-frame in a sequence (IIRC).

EDIT: Trim I believe refers to making something "shorter", whereas cut is refers to when you "split" something into two or more parts.

Please post details of the file. Best way would be to get the media information from the CCCP Insurgent, or the Media Information application. More specifically I need the video codec type used in the AVI file to help you.
