Aren't all "announcements for announcements" usually an indication that it will be just some merchandise or something? Because AFAIK new anime seasons are usually announced on the spot without any such tease, aside from maybe a vague twitter post or something.

Really... "announcements for announcements" are not a good sign. But I honestly wish to be wrong here!

Good point, but regardless it is the 10th anniversary so whatever it is it'll probably be special.

If it's season 3 then it'll be like the Lion King in my mind. You know, the one where Simba is born and the monkey holds him up with the majestic music, except Simba will be a little Index to "simbalize" season 3.

...I just want my season 3.

They have just released some games the pasts month, it would be dumb to keep piling up more games.

That's not actually what it said. It said that there was nothing to announce about future plans for a continuation of the anime. It neither confirms nor denies that anything may happen in the future, which is the point of the statement.

That said, I too wouldn't go overboard on expectations. It could be anything.

I'll be cautiously optimistic about this 'big' announcement. I'm just glad they remembered Index's 10th anniversary. For a while I thought Durarara!! would take the spotlight for the entire month.

It could be a databook. (Which I'd welcome. This is a BIG frachise and the last databook was...7 years ago?)
It could be a game. (Unlikely. Puzzdex was released recently)
It could be the NT10 cover. (That itself doesn't need an announcement. We get it on that day anyway.)
It could be an Index III anime. (...refer to my first sentence.)
It could be a Railgun anime Movie. (If its Liberal Arts City then I will be satisifed)
It could be an Accelerator anime (HA HA impossible for now)
It could be an entirely original anime written by Kamachi that tells the story of Kamijou Touma before Index Volume 1 (A figment of my imagination but a dream that I hope comes true someday)
It could be simple acknowledgement of the 10th anniversary, nothing more, nothing less (disappointing but at least I can prepare for it).

... I really want another Index anime...

I'm really hoping for a third season then I mean it is the tenth anniversary and Index fans have been waiting for 3 years. If the sales of the movie are any indicator, the fanbase has increased tremendously since 2011.

the WWIII like a movie of 3 parts would at least ensure good animation, something that hardly had in Index II.
