Well, he's obviously not wearing one of MISSION IMPOSSIBLE's disguises.

I just reminded myself -- didn't they have some kind of fancy device for lifelike masks in CG, which was how Sayoko was able to disguise herself as Lelouch again and again?

Look, that events with sayoko in disguise were a real idiocy.
Lelouch was about 180 cm, Sayoko 164 cm.

I think everyone could understand that Lelouch was a cheat and he never told Sayoko what behaviour to use, then a very stupid error considering Lelouch characterization, but japan writers are so poor about details

A good idea to spy somebody taking distance, after all Scarlet is a ex-soldier.

No, Scarlet doesn't know nothing about Tohdou or Lelouch-Kallen real identity, but cause her past training, to fell a "tail" is easy.

Tohdou know that woman was a soldier, so he's more careful.

So he uses the micro eavesdropping unit (MEU for short) to keep tabs on them and their location. Cool! While I doubt it's Toudou's style, said device could have a small explosive in it that could kill them both.
I know, I've seen too many spy movies!

Not the most unlikely spy device in the history of spy fiction... the old MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE tv series had one episode where somebody slapped what looked like a sticker over an elevator's push button, and when he hit a remote control later on, it automatically caused the button to depress for some reason. I know Barney was brilliant, but still...

This is true! And while I'm not up on MI like you are,(never watched it much)the Bond movies truly had some incredible gadgetry dreamed up from Q branch! My favorite being the wristwatch that fired a laser, had a small amount of C4, was a super powerful magnet, and activated explosives.
Speaking of whom, is it me or does Toudou look a lot like Timothy Dalton?

I prefer the simpler Q gadgets, like the briefcase from FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE, and the plastic explosive toothpaste and sniper-rifle-that-looks-like-a-camera from LICENSE TO KILL*. They're a nice in-between from the ridiculously fantastic gadgets, such as the invisible car in... I don't even remember which movie that was in, to the total absence of any gadgets whatsoever we've had during the Craig era.

* The x-ray machine/laser gun snapshot camera, which was obviously just a well-needed sight gag, aside.

The watch with a magnet and cutting blade (LIVE AND LET DIE) was okay, but the laser one? Too much.

And yes, Tohdoh has the playing-a-bad-guy moustache TD uses.

The invisible Aston Martin was in Die Another Day, of the Brosnon run. Now he had some gadgets! Like the BMW you could drive with a cel phone!
My absolute favorite was "Little Nellie" from You Only Live Twice with Connery!

It would be totally against the Bushido code, but if Toudou pulls a Walther PPK I'll freak!

The little gyroplane-looking thing? Yeah, that was acceptable. If it had just automatically unfolded itself out of a briefcase like George Jetson's car, and I imagine it _would_ have during the latter Moore era, that would have been going too far.

Hmmm, I sorta have to wonder if Tohdoh has done any introspective reexamination of his adherence to Bushido, or rather when he did and when he didn't, and where he went wrong, what he could have done better.
