Conspiracy Theory : When making the TE VN, they knew that Nakahara wouldn't do the H scene, so they f***ed up the plot by making Yui a brocon and make Yuuya go for Cryska

It's too bad that they didn't (yet) allow Hitomi Nabatame to use her talents in that arena. I'm sure a lot of ero-gamers liked her performance in that regard as Kazusa Touma in White Album 2.

That doesn't matter. Because while many famous male seiyuu are okay with being involved with H-projects as long as they don't do H themselves (and some are even okay with doing it) female seiyuus are not because it will hurt their careers. Nakahara is not going to want to be involved with an eroge even if she isn't doing anything herself.

Because SHAMEFUR DISPURAY, that's why. Only really big voice actors who have had extensive careers and are extremely well-respected, like Norio Wakamoto, or people who don't really give a shit AND have extremely respectable careers, like Yu Asakawa (Munakata) are allowed to show off their voices and/or names in a porn product.

And even then, Norio Wakamoto was under a pseudonym in Asagi and Ingrid.

There's also Shizuka Itou, who is quite happy to do eroge roles, but IIRC she's still credited under a different name. It's an open secret that allows people to pretend that she's not doing porn. As an example of her eroge work, refer to Princess Waltz. (That said IIRC she mentioned that she's quitting porn, after she got married.)

Well, Hitomi Nabatame has made (censored) noises for many eroge titles, playing a wide gamut of characters from young Kanade Yuki from Fortune Arterial, to femme fatale Aoi Souma from Pianissimo, to her most recent (and famous) role as Kazusa from White Album 2. If you want to know more, the best thing to do is to buy one of her myriad titles and have a listen, or better yet, buy a few and listen to how versatile she really can be, even with regards to (censored) noises. Still, I would have liked to have seen how she would have handled the situation she and Yuuya were put in near the end of this story, if it turned 18+ (not that such a thing would have been entirely out of left field).

I remember Akira Ishida, despite his own fame and acclaim, has done h-content (OVAs too). I wonder how many thought that Takahiro Mizushima (Haruki's seiyuu in WA2) couldn't make (censored) noises of his own for eroge titles--he apparently did as Haruki in the PC version of WA2. And sometimes seiyuus are too old (and not likely to get much more work or fame) to care. Just look at Miki Itou; despite her previous fame she clearly doesn't mind doing eroge or H-OVA work from time to time. Masako Katsuki, another older female seiyuu, who most famously played Sailor Neptune, also recently portrayed Umeko Kojima from Majikoi!, (censored) noises included.

Mai Nakahara probably is too invested in her "sweet girl" character archetype to contemplate doing 18+ titles. It does make me wonder if Hitomi Nabatame wouldn't mind coaching Nakahara in that area if she did decide to go into that, though.

I have a feeling that H-OVAs are less tolerated than eroge, possibly because H-OVAs are considered even less respectable than eroge titles (who at least have better opportunities to have good writing, otherwise titles like White Album 2 wouldn't have the fame and acclaim it does). Yuu Asakawa hasn't done H-OVAs for a long time, for instance. And is she really that famous? Like her co-workers of similar fame levels (being Shizuka Itou and Hitomi Nabatame) I doubt she could hold a candle to the "fame-level" of seiyuus like Yukari Tamura or Kana Hanazawa.

Shizuka Itou's most famous eroge role is Tamaki Kousaka from To Heart 2 (I'm surprised she hasn't done more roles for Leaf after that blockbuster--I'm sure she would have done an excellent job if she was tapped to play a major role in White Album 2). And most female seiyuus who have done work in eroge titles stop making (censored) noises for those titles after they get married, such as the recently-married Mai Kadowaki (who was, due to her voice, very much in demand for eroge titles). Maybe it's because they think "a married woman's 'bedroom voice' belongs in her bedroom and nowhere else"?

Some exceptions exist, such as Shiho Kawaragi who, at the very least, had a role involving (censored) noises in Kara no Shoujo 2 the same year she was married. And hitomi (AKA Hokuto Minami), most famous for playing Primula from Shuffle! and Koyuki Sakakikbara from Majikoi!, never stopped doing those roles even after getting married. I heard that Yuu Asakawa, in the brief window of time she was married to Showtaro Morikubo, did an eroge role only because it was a title both happened to be in.

Also, I'm sure those who have played the 18+ version of WA2 would take issue with it being called "porn." Would the connotations of that term keep people from actually seeing the quality of its writing?

I don't know about fame or popularity, but Asakawa has an enormous and extremely varied career, and she only started in around '97. Again, regardless of fame, people in charge know she's got the skills, and that's why she keeps getting roles every year everywhere, even if she made H material that has futanari in it (yeah, I know, GTS was so glorious until then...).

You can have a lot of roles and never amount to much in the public consciousness. Ryouko Tanaka has had a truckload of eroge roles and the closest thing she's had to a starring role in a mainstream anime is Hinata Kagura from the H2O: Footprints in the Sand anime, itself an adaptation of an eroge. Harumi Sakurai fared a bit better, scoring a starring role as Yuri in the Angel Beats! anime and a minor character role as Awaki Musujime in the To Aru Majutsu no Index anime. Neither of those titles are eroge adaptations, and Harumi Sakurai has done many eroge roles.

Sadly, female eroge seiyuus rarely gain much mainstream success. Eroge seiyuus who have garnered a fair amount of mainstream success like Yuu Asakawa, Shizuka Itou, Hitomi Nabatame, Kaori Mizuhashi, Mai Kadowaki, etc. are the exception, not the rule. So many go unloved and unappreciated despite obvious voice acting talent, such as Oma Ichimura, hitomi (AKA Hokuto Minami), Mio Yasuda, Aji Sanma, etc.

Yuu Asakawa's most major role in recent memory is Momoyo Kawakami of the Majikoi! games and anime, so she's not very successful right now. If there was ever an anime adaptation of the "Heaven's Feel" path from Fate/Stay Night she could reprise her role as Rider in that (and certainly reap the fame and acclaim). I would also like to hear her reprise her role as Mari Kazaoka in another White Album 2 anime adaptation, but right now the odds of that happening in the future are pretty low.

Is your current avatar picture a depiction of Fikatskia Latrova from Muvluv:TE? Honda Takako voiced her and is an experienced eroge seiyuu, so I'm surprised Latrova didn't get a route of her own in an 18+ version of the ML:TE VN. She and Yuuya consummating their relationship would be a bit odd (since she is a bit like his mother figure, and definitely one of his mentors) but less odd than some of Yuuya's other choices. Besides, Yuuya's experiences with Cryska show that he doesn't mind being around women from "Mother Russia."

Well as far as H-content goes it never really mattered at all for me in MuvLuv, though i would like if they'd give us a mix between an all age version and the adult version by not cutting out on the violence and gore... not that i'm a fan of that, rather its quite the opposite but the emotional impact of the horror served by it that way does helped to serve the overall horrors and loss of the characters better.

That said i've been out of contact with muvluv for a while and i was wondering if there are any translation projects for novels besides Muv Luv Extra/Unlimited/Alternative translated (same for light novels translations).

Also i want to ask if TSF Forefront is still MIA ...

Apparently Muv Luv TDA is being worked on (Chicken Divers is done, and a few others are partially done too. Gabester has his hands on these i think) and also AF is getting some love too.

TSF forefront i haven't seen any update but i saw some new vids on youtube about changing the mech and color (which i haven't seen before)

Also, TE is getting a PC version.
