Hmm...seems checking out the scanlated chapters Ippo is still in a losing streak, long time no post and still this...oh well. Though Iam a little impress now since parry's are part of a boxing. No more circus act of that unrealistic rope jumping gig from Woli.

Also note if Ippo can withstand those punches, possible Woli isn't in the level of punch power Ippo and Sendo has.

In Ippoverse is quite accepted that the fastest boxers are weak against power boxers. I think that's the way that Morikawa is planning it, despite what happened at the corners, i think that the fight will be solved there.

Ippo's scratch can kill.

This is the first chapter since the hilarious introduction of Wall-E (via the "environmental message" video), that I have actually enjoyed. Wall-E shows some real world skills (instead of gimmicky tricks) here, and Ippo actually loses his stupid face, and the beginnings of something amazing are clearly on the horizon. Ippo will get his scratch, and Wall-E will bleed...

I've been following this manga silently without any complaints because of entertaining fights, but guys this match is too unrealistic, I mean, even with spectacular athleticism, a boxer with 3 fights toying a champion? I mean, this fight really sucks. It's better if Ippo gets a beatdown with fighter with experience than this guy without it. This Woli guy is too annoying not only his attitude but also with his fighting style (I've never seen a boxer use the ropes to fly and dodge a punch). And is Ippo really this weak? I think you're looking at this the wrong way. The 3 fights don't mean a thing when you grew with Gibbons. Gibbons are the fastest monkeys in the world. For him to be able to play with them and be on par with them means he's no ordinary human (which is impossible by the way, but hey this is a manga). You can compare it to a lifetime of training. Watching a mere human punch him must be like seeing it in slow motion. Much like what Itagaki experienced.

Exactly. If Woli is a gibbon swinging around the stage as if it were the canopy of a jungle, then Ippo, crouching in on himself, is the proverbial python (one of the few natural predators of a gibbon) waiting to strike as soon as his prey comes into his range.

I hadn't read this manga before last week. And I just blasted through 800 chapters while at work in the past week.

Best boxing manga ever.

Anyone got any good recommendations for other boxing mangas?

PS. Dempsey Roll against a speedster? That's a no no, unless he is stuck in the corner. Which this guy looks like he can jump straight over. It looks more like Ippo is going to take every hit looking for that "one" KO.
