Mai, of course! Too much there to not pick her as my favorite: caring, strong, brave. I think her only big flaw is a tendency to be dishonest with herself, but she learns that lesson (the hardest way possible). Natsuki is #2 for the awesome personality development through the series. Lone wolf becomes loyal friend. I really like both of these characters in the manga as well. I didn't mind Tate too much at all. He at least seemed better suited for Mai than Reito was.
2. Favorite Element?
Mai's magatama bracelets, I mean she can fly, launch fireballs, and deflect bullets... Pretty spiffy! Mikoto's Miroku is pretty cool too (and humorously HUGE).
3. Favorite Child?
Kagustuchi (Mai and Kagutsuchi are pretty much the total badasses; she just isn't the type to use it to kill off her friends, damn Kagutsuchi handlers are always so STUBBORN!), although Duran gets a close second (I just love it when Natsuki commands, "Load Silver Cartridge... TEEEEeeee!")
4. Favorite Couple?
Mai and Yuuichi, too bad it took SO long for them to actually admit it to themselves! If this extends to non-romantic, then I really liked Mai and Mikoto's relationship develop into almost a mother-daughter kind of bond. Not a big ShizNat fan, although I can definitely respect Shizuru's feelings, and she was so mature and almost regal about her feelings for Natsuki as well (and of course Natsuki handled it in the end with a LOT of class and grace, I thought).
5. Favorite Episode?
Eps 24 and 25. The sorrow as Mai's entire world finishes crumbling down around her, plus the scene with Mikoto crying her heart out. We also got to see Natsuki be the caring friend supporting Mai and the touching scene with Natsuki and Shizuru's deaths. For the humorous side, the panty thief and cake wars episodes were pretty funny.
6. Least Favorite Character?
Shiho (ONIIIIICHAN!!! ugh. And those hair... things... tentacles? Get a new hairdo, Shiho.) and Ishigami (too creepy and damn evil, someone we all love to hate). I didn't really take to Takumi all that much. I felt for Mai when he died, but he always kinda seemed spineless. I guess Akira will fix all that, now, though. She definitely has the balls in THAT relationship...
7. Least Favorite Element?
Akane's weird Tonfa. They just didn't seem... useful. In the slightest. Of course... AKANE didn't seem all that useful, to be honest. The manga has me sympathizing a BIT more with her, though...
8. Least Favorite Child?
Harry was kinda meh, although we only saw him once. Otherwise Gennai and Diana seemed pretty mediocre. Really, what could Diana do offensively anyways? (Never understood why Yukino ever called her out against Kiyohime. That was a match fated to see Haruka go all sparkly. No reason to risk your MVP in that kind of fight. Just freaking run away from the BerzerkerShizuru).
9. Least Favorite Couple?
Shiho/Tate - Damnit Shiho, Oniichan is busy with a girl that doesn't look like she's in 5th grade! Plus, you're making Mai sad, so you need to go get laid with someone other than your older "brother".
10. Least Favorite Episode?
None that I can think of, loved every emo and melodramatic moment of this series

1. Favorite Character

Haruka--most kick butt character in any incarnation, be it the powerless HiME version or the Otome General.

2. Favorite Element

In terms of looks, I would have to say Yukino's mirror, as it was a nice design. In terms of power, I say Shizuru's naginata.

3. Favorite Child

I like all of the children. My favorites would be Gakutenou or Kiyohime. Yatagarasu was also pretty good.

4. Favorite Couple

I liked all of the couples but especially Yukino/Haruka and Shizuru/Natsuki.

5. Favorite Episode

Episode 16, with all of the characters doing karaoke and cosplay.

6. Least Favorite Character

In the anime, Ishigami, the art teacher who seduced Yukariko. In the manga, Yuuichi Tate, for obvious reasons.

7. Least Favorite Element

Very hard to find one that I dislike, but Akira's kunai was the least interesting element.

8. Least Favorite Child

I liked all of the Childs, but Yukino's child struck me as weak.

9. Least Favorite Couple

If I was allowed to use the manga I say Tate and Natsuki. This is the main reason I hate the manga with a passion.

10. Least Favorite Episode

Episode 24--Yatagarasu went down a little too easily. I would have liked to see more of a fight.

1. Favorite Character

Mashiro--She had great character development and was very cute. Also, she had more of a human feel than the HiME version. For all those people who disliked Otome Mashiro and yet want a prequel of HiME showing the previous carnival, please remember that HiME Mashiro as an immature child would have been very much like Otome Mashiro.

2. Favorite Weapon

Natsuki's large gun. Not only is it practical, it's also destructive.

3. Favorite Robe

I liked all of the robes, especially the manga version of Erstin's robe.

4. Favorite Couple

Mashiro and Arika, because they are way too cute together.

5. Favorite Episode

Haven't seen much of Otome, but from the descriptions, episode 12 is the best, with everyone in disguise and all.

6. Least Favorite Character

Sergay Wong--he was much older than most of the Otomes and yet had two of the main characters chasing after him. This just felt disturbing. If I were allowed to use the manga, Manshiro would also be my least favorite.

7. Least Favorite Weapon

The standard Coral staff. Pretty much useless...

8. Least Favorite Robe

The standard Coral robe. It was too plain.

9. Least Favorite Couple

Segay and Nina--very disturbing, and it ruined a perfect possiblity with Erstin.

10. Least Favorite Episode

I don't have one since I haven't seen much of Otome.
