On one hand, I'm worried that lightning won't strike twice, that it won't be as good as the first season (consider 00 S1 vs 00 S2).
On the other hand, those thoughts above are drowned out by the part of my being that's screaming like an excited Justin Bieber fangirl.

I only have three speculation
1. All old cast, new plot Would be fine, but there's a risk of things getting stale (their character arc already finished) 2. All new cast, new plot, old cameo My preference, all fresh no Destiny shit 3. Mixed cast, new plot No, just no. I know this will not work. GBF is all about passing the torch.

Well, I personally wouldn't mind option 3 but that's just me .
I'll also echo Wild Gooses opinion that, while there's always the fear that season 2 won't live up to the original, having a new Build Fighters season makes me very, very happy .

Despite knowing that sequels hardly ever surpass their prequel, I still get more hyped for the sequel because of the amazing feels the prequel left. I know GBF II could potentially ruin the "ameizing" feeling that season 1 left me with, but I'd still welcome it with open arms. Why? Simply because, who doesn't like sequels?
Honestly, I'd go for a new cast, but have the old cast make cameos in-between. Or have it told from another character's PoV instead of Sei's/Reiji's this time. Preferably Yuuki. However, it'd be extreme bullshit if the new cast defeats the old cast in the end. I don't ever buy that "new generation surpasses the old" shit, never really liked it. If there's a new cast, they better get pwned HARD by the old cast, I won't be satisfied if they don't. lol

Just not in the course of show, unless time skip involved. If you ask me who is stronger between Ral and Sei, I know Sei will be stronger, but not as his 13 year old self. It will be Adult, vastly more experienced Sei.

I hope Mobile Suits from 00S2 and Movie come out in the next season. AGE, I don't give a crap about it.
Also I think this is just going to be a timeskip so Reiji and Sei could battle each other, also Tatsuya settling his disrupted battle against Reiji and Sei also. |

Sure, we can have a new protag or a new cast entirely, but that doesn't necessarily mean that they'd surpass their predecessors, then again, this isn't RL, so my point is invalid. Also, this is shonen, so the surpassing thing gets a huge boost. -_- I never believed in the surpassing thing, so when I do see it in anime, I'm like . Yes, some may surpass a few of their predecessors, but definitely not all of them. When you have them surpassing every last one of their predecessors, you know the bullshit is strong. Of course, that's just my really cynical view on the matter, so I'm not expecting anyone to agree with me on it. I'm usually the only one who has this sentiment when I get into debates about it. lol --------------------------------------- For example, lets take a look at Naruto, the manga clearly projected the message of the new surpasses the old, but the reality was that when the old generation got resurrected for the war, the new generation were severely outclassed & if not for a certain orange clad ninja, they would've been annihilated by now.
