That's the difference, Maho may show the most affection for Subaru but she clearly does not have the romantic feelings for him. Suffice to say, they all love him, but it seems that only Tomoka has feelings that will lead to dating/marriage basically its a different kind of love. Clearly they all show affection for him but Tomoka is the one who is 'in love' with him like Aoi is.

That's well above the break-even point. A sign that the show has been well-received, which makes me a happy camper, as I adored it.

If all subsequent volumes do just as well, a second season might be a viable option (and I definitely wouldn't mind if they did).

Ahem, but the end was awesome. This series ended on a satisfactory note with me seeing some shimapan kick by Aoi, ah so fun. Except when I see MY Maho-chan having a popsicle under a tree with that bastard coach, and then MY Saki-chan all dressed up miniskirt and all going out on a date with that bastard coach, and then he went to the aquarium with MY Airi, and not to mention he had the gall to force MY Hina to mount his shoulders (her shirt was pulled up and caught on his hair), rawr count your days Subaru because I won't let this go

It's a BIG stretch, wouldn't it be awesome if the Ro-Kyu Bu girls are all actual children of the "Slam Dunk" Cast.

It could work on the basis that:

1) It's been 17 years since the Inter-High Tournaments detailed in Slam Dunk, and the starting line are all 32 to 35 year olds now, more than likely with families.

2) The girls take their mothers surnames instead of their fathers'

So, for fanfic writers out there, here are the Shohoku Lineup and their daughters, who uncannily match their fathers' court positions and maybe even personalities):

Sakuragi Hanamichi => Tomoka (Both Geniuses )
Ryukawa Kaede => Saki (Both Cool as ice. )
Akagi Tankenori = > Airi (Both giants )
Mitsui => Maho (Both jerks who are excellent 3 point shots)
Miyagi Ryota => Hinata (Both tiny but incredibly fast point guards)

But it will have to work on the sad assumption that neither Sakuragi NOR Miyagi will get the girls of their dreams. And Haruko will not get Ryukawa either.
