Given Satoko's personality in Dice-Killing Chapter, he may have just wanted to see where Rika was going with this. Furthermore, it's not like he's going to beat the crap out of a girl his own sister's age, as opposed to shoving Shion to the ground in Meakashi-hen.

About Keiichi's eyes..

Is there a reason for them being purple in the anime? Was it a coloring error? Did they just think he looks better with it then with blue eyes, or didn't want two non-related characters with the same eye color?

How exactly do they kill Rika? In one arc they said they knocked her unconscious by suffocating her, but in every other she seems awake and aware.

Wow, now I'm trying to imagine what a Higurashi anime MOVIE could even contain. Everything in the series is so closely interconnected that it seems almost unheard of to make an entire movie, seeing as how the problem is supposedly resolved, and the crew don't really have anything mind-blowingly interesting happen to them otherwise.

I suppose it might be possible to look into the multi-verse theory for a movie. If so, it might draw in some of the elements in Umineko. That definitely seems like it could take up at least 2 1/2 hours.

I would think covering side stories in some sort of anthology could work as a OVA. There is plenty of room with Higurashi being completed to run other Higurashi stories. Something like how they done To Aru Kagaku No Railgun could work or something even like Shuffle Memories

Oni Sarashi could be done as a movie itself, it very well written and would fit the J-horror mold easily if done that way and would be even profitable.

Live-action movies are just too difficult a prospect to pull off for a show like this. They run only 90-something minutes, the character designs rarely ever match the actors, and the actors rarely emulate the characters' personalities. I understand that artistic license can be taken, but with a show like this, there is a very fine line to cross, too fine for the directors that take this project.

In Onikukushi, K1 is almost hit by a white van when he is going to school, early in the morning. The Yamainu are the ones who drive the van/car, and it looks like Okonagi... But why do they try to kill him, why does Takano want him dead? He doesn't know anything. It cannot be because of Irie, because Irie wouldn't kill him... It looks intentional in the anime, and I never figured it out from the VN...

Remember that in Onikakushi-hen Keiichi himself is the one succumbing to Hinamizawa Syndrome. It's possible that the van incident in actuality was all an accident and due to the syndrome he viewed it as an intentional threat against his life. Though this contradicts the Yamainu chasing him after he was confronted by Rena.

So most likely the real reason they were after him was because they learned that Keiichi believed something was wrong with the village and was cooperating with Ooishi and the police for an investigation.

Is it true that it was originally planned in the Kai anime for Mion to tell Keiichi she loves him at some point? I've heard people say that they planned to do this, but they cut it out at the last minute.

And also, in Kai ep 13, when Keiichi tries to say something but we can't hear what he's saying, does anyone know what he was trying to say?

Nah those look purple to me as well.

this is about the mion and shion arc...so the one fell off the balcony was shion...so that means the one in the hospital with keichi was mion rite?

but why would mion want kei-chan dead? because if i recall shion falls off the balcony after stabbing kei and kei was in the hospital....

This is one of the most frequently asked questions. The answer is that Keiichi was delusional, shion was really dead and keiichi suffered a heart attack by seeing the delusion of Shion at the hospital after Ooishi explained his weird theory and left the room.

Well I am new to Higurashi so didn't read all of the thread because it might contain untagged spoilers but I wish to know the age of the characters because its seriously bugging me lately

That's actually one of the most difficult questions to answer. Keiichi, Mion, and Rena are roughly the same age, with Keiichi 1 year younger. Rika and Satoko are supposedly 1 year younger than Keiichi. Unfortunately, the charcter designs are difficult to peg an age for.

No official age is ever given in the anime, manga, or visual novels, only giving x's for their ages. Once in a while, it gives the older characters an age of "xx," but give Rika and Satoko and age of "x," indicating that they are 9 or younger. Again, that is inconsistent to the previous paragraph.

The short answer is that the older characters are between 14-17, though they are likely on the lower end to maintain some sort of consistency with respect to Rika and Satoko, who are probably around 11-12 as of June 1983.
