This OP definitely had the Gundam SEED feel to it, but it worked great.

OP is great and I can't wait for the full version.

Minami's on a roll...

Whoa! Awesome OP!
The entire presentation, with the characters' morose faces, static poses, showing off their attacks, and the final clash between Arika and Nina are all very reminiscent of the GSD OPs.
...and Mai was awesome.

The op for new Mai Otome (Ep 16)

To those who have watched the new ep, i have noticed that it GREATLY represents those of Gundam seed/Destiny ops. Seriously. Anyone else think so? or is it just me?

And in ep 16 one scene looks like theyre transporting a huge "Gundam" like thing on the back of a truck.. Too much to be a coincidence!

It's been discussed already in the Ep. 16 thread.

There's also a topic dedicated to discussing the second op.

You just don't get it do you?

It's considered good manners, when starting a brand new thread, to offer something to discuss.

A thread needs real-substance for it to exist. This isn't a chat-room. 30 words is not eough to start a thread.

It definitely had a Gundam feel to it and I too liked both the new animation and the song. Also from the look of the opening it seems we will have "grunts" in Mai Otome aswell.

Edit//
Mai seems to have a real badass attack too.

Actually, it looks more like a Gundam 0083 or Wing OP to me... Seed OPs generally aren't as well animated.

Heck, actually reminds me of a few other Sunrise OPs. Their action anime OPs all tend to have this type of style.

God help us....
It has an opening that is made in the same style as GSD.

Oh please It's not that big a deal.

In the first few seconds of the OP there is a scene where Nina, Arika and Mashiro are all standing in and around a buildings rubble, and this just screamed an omage to the Gundam Wing OP where Heero and Relena were in the same setting.

However:
---Mai
---Mai happy, not depressed and angsty like I thought.
---Natsuki materialized
---All five pillars
---Nina with a meister gem.
---Tomoe finally graduated into a full badguy.
---Midori and Aswald in the OP

I had to watch it a frame at a time in virtualDub to see it all (or at least FEEL like I saw it all).

I've got goosebumps. The show is finally taking off.
