Week square lol.

I thought it was an ok episode. Some of the shots of Beatrice looked weird.

Am I the only one who imagined Rudolf coming out of the washroom stall to sing the Jack Bauer song? (I blame Niconico)

I wasn't a big fan of some of the animation quality for this episode, but the pacing and all weren't too bad.

About that "week square" thing though...I don't really think it's a mistake. Maybe it's done on purpose? Who knows..

It is a mistake, as others in this topic have noted. "Week Square" isn't a chess term, "Weak Square" is.

What do you mean? He's already Jack Bauer.

I know that, I read through the entire thread lol...

but because of the fact that it should be the chess term "weak square", I'm thinking it might be a pun of sorts, not a mistake.

The other 6 episode titles didn't have puns + the things I saw written in an umineko magazine thread ("triangle fire' and 'each feelings') makes me believe the japanese were simply too occupied drooling over Beato to notice the mistake they made -_-

How would it be a pun? The course of the story isn't even a week long. O.o;

There is absolutely no need to think too deeply when Japanese do mistakes regarding the use of English.
That is by no mean worse than some aberration you can find, even worse in real life (meating room etc).

@klash
I'm just saying that's all, and I'm not thinking too deeply, it's just the first thought that popped into my mind instead of assuming that it's a common Engrish mistake.

@maho
It could have been a pun actually, I'm sure you could find something if you tried hard enough...>_>

I honestly don't know why people are making such a big deal out of this. I'm just suggesting that, maybe, just maybe, instead of a mistake it could've been something more clever. Is it wrong for me to think DEEN is trying to be clever? I certainly wouldn't want a studio that makes errors animating Umineko.

If they were good at English back in school, they wouldn't be at the bottom rung of society (animators). Just a figure of thought.

Pacing was nicely done in this episode. Although I still have to give it an 8 at most due to lower quailty and a probably important scene missing in action (Rudolf's dream). Also, Answer was cut short. It was well done in the drama cd. The anime execution wasn't bad, it just felt inferior to the other materials.

They ended the episode at the proper scene this time. With this, the next episode can probably start at the second day.

True. Most people in business in Japan normally have to be fluent in English, since America and the UK are two of the biggest countries Japan works with in terms of trade and economics. Then again, English is pretty much the most popular language in the world (the most spoken is Chinese, considering they're 1/4th of the entire world population ). Rudolf apparently can speak English, according to his dream, so I wouldn't doubt the other adults being able to do the same.

But like Christen said, Rudolf's dream was probably important. When I saw it I didn't think much of it, but I still wonder why Ryukishi put that in there. Pretty sure his random encounter with George was just for laughs though, since George is so geeky and tries to be cool, while Rudolf is seen as a guy who can be easily smooth with the ladies. But the dream is just odd I guess.

It's probably an important scene, although there's no confirmation if the scene had significance at all. It does give Rudolf the back story of what happened with his current problem overseas.

Yeah it might be just me.
