Runescape

I just read the rules for this forum and they seemed pretty scary so Im hoping this game is acceptable for discussion.

Anyway.

The games called Runescape.

Its an MMORPG with a free play and a members option.

Its not the greatest in graphical quality, but its really addictive and pretty cool.

Probably one of the worst MMOs out there. Up there with Maple Story I'd say.

Nah you dont know what your talking about.

Runescape is great, it has an awesome community and network in place.

Its one of the only games that gets weekly updates and new skills.

Beats the pants off of WoW and Guild wars. A bunch of my friends quit RS to go play simple games like those but they all come back in a month and realise that while Runescape isnt graphically amazing it is one of the best available

Maybe for some people, and I don't want to diss RS or anything,
but comparing it with WoW or Guild Wars IMO was a mistake,
Though GW and WoW are similiar yet very different in their ways,
I'd choose either of them over RS, simply cause RS doesn't give
the gamer the feeling of excitement... indeed one of the reasons is
because of the graphics and its animation....

It really depends on the user and their needs, if they enjoy a community
and such... and don't mind the graphics,animation, environmental, sound,
excitement, or any others that may be lacking... then RS may suit them...
for the more demanding gamers, RS would not be very appealing..

edit: but then again, RS is free while many of the mmorpgs out there aren't.... its your choice

I play RS.... the staff made some new graphic changes. the game doesnt hav the best graphics but its BIG and very protective of its players....but right now i play conquer online, its sorta like RS but better graphics and its asian. Runescape is the worst MMORPG ever if you ask me. It's really just dull. It has nothing to do with the graphics, seeing as I can play Tibia and enjoy that, but it just isn't any fun.

Most MMORPGs suck. Only one that's decent is Guild Wars, cause it feels more like playing a singleplayer game. Planetside is also good, but that's not an MMORPG, it's an MMOFPS, and it has the whole problem with levelling up when you're newbie... it's impossible.

i played for some time and it gets really boring all you do is walk around and hit things over and over again until it dies ,then you just chat which is pretty much the best thing also doing quest which take forever to finsh and has some of the worst graphics ever in the history of games

got a lvl 120 character

now that i quit, i feel like i wasted my time playing it. So much better games out there

Runescape... eh maybe good like 10 years ago but really outdated now...
How is guild wars simple? Theres like 99999999999999999999999 different character/team builds out there and I doubt even .1% of players who play know how complicated the engine is (refer to guildwiki.org, they have all the formulas XD).

All runescape is, is one giant Grindage game. All you have to do is click click click for hours and hours. The more you waste your life clicking the better you get. That game barly calls for cooperation of characters at all/no strategy. Play something better like Ragnarok or something! gotta love the cute sprites ^_^

How can people stand to play runescape? Doesn't it get boring trying to make money to get some cheap colored armor or something. Especially when they took out pking (player killing) All you can do now is stake which you can't even stake higher then 3k. I quit a long time ago and went back to it the other day because I was really bored and yeah it changed alot do any one here still play it or even tried the game lol. I know the graphics is verry harsh for your eyes but yeah anywaysh.

Yeah I played it about 4 years ago, maybe 5. It was highly addictive back then but wore out after a while. At least I made a lil bit of good money from selling my character.
You say they took out PK? Even in the wild? That's so stupid. And a while ago I was pointed to a runescape dev blog about some graphics updates they're gonna get.. here it is:

i used to play runescape, well that was like 3 years ago when they introduced the Members features with dragon armor etc etc. I didn't like it anymore because you're very restricted now with: Mining, Fishing, training on monsters. I'm like lvl 89 or so i believe and I feel really bored fighting now just fighting demons (lvl 79).

I do play sometimes, just mining and smithing, because it was my child's dream to get to mine and smith Rune armors. other than that, Runescape is just kissing their Member's shoes since they have been updating alot of stuff on member's side.

On the contrary, I loved it.
Of course, this is all opinion, and many people will agree and disagree with me.

I still play it though. Loved it as much as I did 8 years ago.
