As for my thoughts on the first episode, the first thing that came to my head was how they changed around the events, not that I mind, in fact its understandable since they took out the first chapter and therefore Aladdin's introduction, so they now have to reintroduce his character, which was actually kinda parallel to the first chapter anyway.

The humor kinda fell flat, the jokes themselves are funny but the delivery left much to be desired. Also Elizabeth, granted they cut the really funny part of the scene, but it was still good to see her. Also the Ed music doesn't fit the show at all the OP is okay.

Now here's to praying that A1 doesn't try to rush through the series.

Well I figured she had a name, but just didn't feel like immediately looking it up

. Good to confirm suspicions though that she is a key member of this group. Now just a matter of waiting and seeing how that is going to happen. Gave me as good of a feeling as someone can when they don't really say anything. Embarrassed enough about those leg chains to drop what she was carrying, but putting herself on the line to save that kid.

So if we're looking at the main group, I think the show is in good shape.

morgiana's name means this :

the original name is "morgana"

but it was wrong to include the name "Elizabeth" in this series

You mean the two characters that plays no vital role to the story in both their first appearance as well as their reappearance, yeah.
They could be introduced once (and big IF) they actually become relevant.

What do you think if Aladdin and luffy ever meet? They have similar personallity save for perverted mess and care for his friend a lot they would make a good friend...
Aladdin want to meet all djinn and luffy want one piece...they would make nice team...undefeatable team

Zorro would most likely challenge sinbad/alibaba and morgiana will be be quite a good friend with namy...

Let's leave the crossovers to the pros alright?^^;;. Keep each epic story seperated and they'll run better. Besides, they both get serialized in different jumps.

Oh goodness, that's. . . really quick. I've honestly been mulling over how they'd adapt the first arc in two episodes. In my head it works, but it's been so long since I've read it I'm not so sure anymore.

My most anticipated series of the season! As for the episode itself, I liked it. I didn't mind too much that there was no Sasha and Leila, though I liked the first chapter myself. I'm afraid neither Aladdin or Alibaba's voices are working for me, but I'm sure they'll grow on me soon enough. Ah, Mor being in the final scene definitely threw me off.

Execution of original source is quite good in first episode. Even though Magi is very much a shounen manga/anime, the beginning of Magi manga is very charming with its focus on people’s relationships to each other (friendships, family, all souls go to one place after death…etc…). I just hope that this show won't get cliche or executing another deus ex machina (where the protagonist gaining sudden power up out of nowhere just because there're people he have to protect) which is old and boring.

Sorry to disappoint you, but your so called "Deus ex machina" is a common thing in all (not all but many) action-based shounen series. This series is no exception (If you've read later chapters of the manga), although not as cliche as Dragon Ball Z where the author abused the power up of the characters in overly exaggerated and ridiculous ways.

"I have people i have to protect, so give me power". Personally i hate that kind of development. If you want to protect people, if you want to get power, you gotta train yourself or obtain the power on your own. Sudden power up for granted is already an old and boring idea, i agree completely with you. Just having and wanting to protect some people doesn't make people deserve sudden power-up
