man i never gonna be used with this whole "i dont know what is love" or asexual asexual attitudes or "japaneses otakus" about being clueless about romance but being very pervert and want touch boobs, this anime is a exactly exemple, why almost every male mc(at last on the most cliche ones) must have problem to deal with romance, why something natural(from the very human nature) must be so complicate, one thing is a 4, 10 or even 12 years old being clueless but a 18 years old guy, wtf, virgin dont means who he dont know but who he never did, this dont means who his "dna" is lacking of romance or love or things like that, this is too much unreal, this make me believe who japaneses otakus living in another dimension where the only things who matter is boobs sizes and touch then any other things is completly inexistent.

That is the exact message the story is trying to convey. Masayoshi has yet to reach puberty mentally. The whole idealism about heroes which was passed down by his grandfather took up too much of his thinking. He is pretty much still a kid at heart despite his appearances

then his grandfather was a big douchbag cuz look at the damage/brainwash he caused to him, turned him in a near impossible to live in real world person, only in anime a guy like him could still be free and not throwed in any sanatory or all the problem which he caused with all the universe giving god powers, he literally turned japan is "playground" to play super hero and even forget who actually superheroes also have a "social life" their not live 100% of the time being superheroes or saving peoples(even batman).

which is why the apology back in ep18 is so effective. To be fair his "power" did no manifest until he's a massively adored character from the public. Even with that the public has another figure to blame in the prime minister.

not was really effective, at last for him, cuz he said who "he did not regret what happened and thanks to all that he met others" something who he also could did in a "normal life" without peoples die and everything, he tecnically speak have a happy end after the samurai alien, what he regreted not was follow his grandfather wish but what happened because of what the universe did to him, like the famou if i had other chance i could did the same!!

masayoshi way of think is too much distorted you see it on his way to try to "teach something" he aways pull nonsense speechs(even for a japanese hero)his mind is too much distorted about what is "right" and what can be right(not really bad) something like even if for the great good i will do something crazy(not evil) but due to being something crazy this can lead to somesort of troubles too.

Could you please proofread that part again? I'm having great difficulty comprehending what point you are trying to state here.

This was as good as ending as I wanted. Fun times. This was perfect closure for the series and the characaters. Everyone got a good ending, even if nothing really changed. Hazama is still a manchild chasing the pettiest offender, and Goto is still talking to his dead gf, but they improved on both things. Hazama finally realised that a hero can't solve everything. A hero can't save Haiji nor Goto.

I'm happy they never went and tried to somehow solve Hazama's parents death or Goto's gf's dissappearance, it'd have been a real blow to the show. Now that it's over it's easy to see that this was never made up on the go, as it might have seemed halfway through, but that everything was well thought and there's an actual thematic running through it.

On Hazama and Goto, I think they are one of those couples that never get together but still are otp. Like the ones in neverending series or in a romcom that is too succesful to actually get closure.

I hold Samurai Flamenco as my favorite series of the last few years, and best naked ending this season. 9/10

And that's another story complete. Samurai Flamenco, you were one the better surprises I had the pleasure of experiencing in recent memory.

I finally got around watching the last episode, aaaand to echo RoboMambo above, it was everything I ever wanted from an ending for this series. It was just so utterly perfect, a great end for a great series. I could go on and on about it, but in the end it was just awesome. (I'm sure that if I read back there'll be some "ewwww GAAAAAYYY" and "omg why was it gayyyy" comments in there, so I won't read back.)

On the whole, Samurai Flamenco was a really really good show. There were some bumps on the road, but overall the writing and direction stayed rock solid, and while many people jumped ship after the Guillotine Gorilla incident, the series greatly rewarded those who had the interest and patience to stick with it (well, at least it greatly rewarded me). This is a very clever little show, and it's a shame that many people turned away from it just because it didn't stick with "slice of life" or "realism" (even though it was never those things). Even now I see people saying that they should've skipped the Flamengers/sentai bits, but really, why? Aside of the fact that those parts were thoroughly enjoyable, the show couldn't have ended up where it did without those.

Oh well, for those who jumped ship, it's their loss - Samurai Flamenco is one of my favorite recent series, and an overall great show. Props to everyone who was involved with it!

^especially Matsuda Toshiki. He was awesome as Masayoshi, and I hope we'll hear him in many many roles in the future.

Just got back from vacation. So, just now I’ve watched the last episode of Flamenco, and guess what? Turns out my half-joking in the previous pages is half true (maybe even more than half). I said in my prev posts “What if Masa realized that he’s gay for Goto?” and what’s this episode does? Masa asked Goto for marriage, LOL! He even said “I’m very serious about this!” and “Maybe this is love”. Enough said .

LOL, it's pretty much like I told you before:

Samurai Flamenco has its own style of storytelling, and "silly" is a big part of it. I’ve accepted it long ago since Masa started using using stationary tools to do his over-the-top action and the Flamenco Girls existence. Right at the time, I said it to myself, “Alright, there’s no way this story is gonna be logical. This show gonna be silly through and through”. But the reveal of all the fantasy elements (starting from Gorilla Guillotine then King Torture) did caught me by surprise, but the story is already silly even before that. With all that said, I think Masa proposing to Goto in that situation is “logical” for this crazy series, and how the show itself gave us some obvious clues which is Masa's clueless-ness about love.

All in all, this show has been an absolute blast for me. Oh, and I was right too that Masa's didn't end up with Sumi even though that's the ending I really want XD.

I'm currently marathon-ing this series and I'm getting to the point where everything is getting weird. No idea what to think of it but I'm enjoying it lol

That's a nice summary, although I find it a bit depressing that this needs to be pointed out because people believe that the show is about being wacky or throwing tokusatsu references around. :/

I wish I could say the same for me. The summary Jeroz posted is spot on, and I got it. It's just that... It's hard to explain. The show, to me, feels coherent but not cohesive. For me, the various elements and style levels just don't integrate. And I don't normally have problems with silly and serious being put together. I don't know why. Probably because most of the source material doesn't mean anything to me.

Definitely agree with this. Brilliant performance. I always bought into his performence, even when the show itself lost me.

I'm kind of disappointed that we don't really find out what happened with Goto's girlfriend. With the mysterious way it was set up I thought it'd actually central to the plot.

Yep, that post sums up Samumenco in a nutshell. Though, you couldn't help but question the show at times. Sometimes, it really made you think that it was just ONLY a parody of all the shows that the post mentions. However, it proved that it did have a plot & didn't exist for the sole purpose of parodying other superhero shows.
