This collection averages out to $10 a game. It's more for collection purists and hardcore followers than anything. $50 retail price is reasonable for the whole package we're getting.

There was also talk of the collection containing two graphic novels. I personally own the first Digital Graphic Novel for the PSP but I thought that the second one had been cancelled.

It's still a bad deal anyway. I would only consider it if they managed to throw in the Twim Snakes remake for the gamecube.
I see no wonder they're not porting that MGS3 version.

I also have the first graphic novel on the PSP, I didn't know there is a second one.

I agree I was waiting for Twin Snakes, but I guess Konami remained loyal to the PS franchise which is the canon MG series.

This collection is entirely canonical, which explains why Portable Ops didn't make the cut. Konami clearly wants to feed the fans a bone in the meantime while waiting for MGS5. And they know this collection will sell like hotcakes (or at least they're anticipating that). It's all about good business strategy.

PO and TS aren't in the Legacy Collection because they aren't "A Hideo Kojima game" (i.e. directed by Kojima).

Apparently it's not. Kojima nor Konami never said anything about PO being canon.

They do mention the events PO in Peace Walker for five seconds I believe. Kazuhira tells Big Boss that they can finally "leave all the crap in San Hieronymo behind." I guess there is a deeper meaning to that. Kojima was everything but subtle in Peace Walker just like when Kaz said "Kojima is God."

I also thought that the events of PO were in that MGS Encyclopaedia "app" they released for the PS3.

I never played PO so I don't know all the details regarding it. Despite what you guys say, however, it's still not considered canon.

Why? Has Kojima ever said it was not canon?

I'm not sure exactly. I would have to go dig around for that. But it's not acknowledged as canon by the fanbase. Why would they not acknowledge it as canon if it is canon?

Considering it does explain how Zero and others managed to obtain the funding for organizing The Patriots, I'd don't see any reason to not consider Portable Ops canon either.

The only reason some people believe it isn't is because Kojima was never the director of that game.

Then that certainly explains things. Perhaps it could be argued that it's semi-canon.

The only thing canon in PO I think is BigBoss and young Col. working together in Fox and Bigboss saves Eva they see each other again and he recruits Ocelot. This probably happened before he formed MSF.

Another analysis about the whole David Hayter controversy. This dude talks pretty good and it's funny seeing trying to understand Kojima. Admit, Kojima is the master of confusions. XD

You'll get a green prompt with the numbers supporting the petition and a thank you, currently there are 10,000+ people supporting this petition. Hope Konami and Kojima would listen to the fans.
