so we just need to wait til his interaction with whats-her-name alchemist, and then what happens from there. can't wait to see what happens...maybe lawrence still fails, loses alot of $$, and Horo chooses him? maybe he wins, so Horo is "forced" to continue with him, to her happiness? idk..

can't' wait for more =)

If Lawrence fails, he'll have to sign Horo's marriage contract, meaning Horo and Amati will be married.

On the plus side, he'll receive a large sum from Amati.

In any case, he will have to give him the agreed upon amount of pyrite. He stands to lose some money, there (as well as with his plans to buy now, at any price, and sell cheap to crash the market). But if he succeeds in that, with the money he conned from Amati earlier, he could break even or better. Not to mention, IIRC, he already bought wheat. If he succeeds, wheat prices will go up.

If he fails, all that effort and investment will come to nothing. He'll just have Amati's money, minus what he must pay for the pyrite to give away.

Its like a string of good guys there. Bartose helping Lawrence out. Certainly there are just times where you have to put everything on the line. Whatever the problems that come your way there are things that are worth the risk. Heading to see Deanna and trying to secure the pyrite from the alchemists are just necessary steps. Have no doubt its going to be tough with Deanna, but again its something Lawrence has to do. Will be an interesting discussion at the very least.

Wonder if Lawrence will let slip Horo's a deity when he talks with Deanna. It would certainly help, but without Horo around to prove it, he'd just sound crazy.

after all, he was able to communicate with deanna before by telling her Horo's story after all....also, Horo refers to herself specifically in chapter 1 as not a deity =). When Lawrence asks her if she's a god, she gives a negative reply. She doesn't really think of herself as a diety, she's just a proud...womimal (woman+animal ^_^)

Okay, so I'm reading through this again while editing, and I'm coming up with two main questions I kinda am thinking about....1: who was the man that Horo promised to watch over the wheat with? What happened between the two of them? Horo seems to hold such resentment, and it may not all be directed towards the "unfaithful" villagers. Who was this guy? 2: Lawrence also thinks about his own hometown, and how he was poor and mistreated...I can almost see some interesting adventures if they ever return to his hometown together...haha. Wonder why he remembers mistreatment...so he wasn't just poor....

What do you guys think?

Lawrence's own backstory is the least developed of all S&W's characters. I think it would be safe to say that he's a wildcard for the author. When Lawrence is called into play the reader will want to pay close attention.

haha...regardless....I second that movement. So have you, Masa, read the novels? I want to say tell me everything that happens if you have...but DON'T! please.....The suspense kills me, but I need to read it =). Though if Hasakura hasn't really developed Lawrence's story in 8 volumes...It's fair to say either it won't happen or we can expect more S&W =)

PS My above post was RHETORICAL....I don't actually want to know if there is anything about it further in the novels yet =). But it's okay to tell me that theres more than meets the eye if there is something...but no farther than that =)

Also, I'm sure Spice and Wolf has a good future ahead of it.

It'll be nice though when B-T can catch up with the Japanese releases.

Spice and Wolf is such a good series.

...you're not horrible unless you've read them =). I own III, but that doesn't help me much.....(then again you pointed out the gun vs bow thing in Vol. 1 Ch. 3, so.........if you've read them......eh haahn haaan waaaaaahhhhhhhhhh /sniff.....

In the books, how is.....no wait, don't tell me....yes tell me, okay in the books, does the scenario with Nora unfold like it did in the anime?? or are there things the anime missed/made up? Could you maybe at least tell me this??? but no more, or I'm gonna freak.....O_o

Well owning the novels isn't a crime, but if you read them then I agree with B-M ^_^

I wonder if he'll ever meet Nora again more ^_^
