Let's just be glad it's not a red trenchcoat and urshanka she's wearing. While, that does make for a mental image, she'd also be holding an ADK-45 and Molotov Cocktails, and that sort of unit dies in droves.

AGH. Off Topic. MUST RE-ESTABLISH CONNECTION...

Something tells me she'd be one of those 2-3 people... perhaps the fourth?

I already loved those pics of Alicia mixed in with MW2.

That reminds me. I saw a pick of Alicia with an M4 carbine somewhere.

I feel a M14 EBR would suit her better.

Cool, I never noticed until now, the shape that Aika's hairstyle makes until I saw it from this angle, her 'Boomerang' hairtyle, sweet!!. Very fitting, since Aika's weapon of choice in Skies of Arcadia was a giant boomerang, though I never took notice or looked hard enough until now to see that her hairstyle is in the shape of a boomerang, that's freaking awesome!!.

thanks, now I know what to call her hairstyle that sounds cooler and more then "Two stiff braids" in my fanfics.

M14 would be awesome. They could also work with the snipers as well, as most (though not all) M14s seeing active duty are used as sniper rifles or DMRs.

Also, when all of the classes have been modernized, you totally have to draw Knute as a contractor. He would definitely have joined up with the PMC if Blackwater or Aegis had been around in 1935.

Blasphemy!

Aika is my favourite character from the game. Absolutely loved her personality and yes her hairstyle is fantastic.

Finally, finished one more lineart sketch before Christmas!

This time, it's Edy who gets the spotlight today. Well, she got everything: rifle, 40 mm grenades, 12 extra mags in my book, flares, etc. I think she's the most heavily equipped so far. As usual, colors will come in due time after I finish the lineart for a few other characters.

I was thinking about the M14 EBR for Marina, but I also had in mind the M200 CheyTac Intervention rifle. Maybe I should do both, it would be fine by me.

I guess she would have to wear either some reddish brown or red camo field uniform since it's about similar to imperial standard colors. I don't feel it would look that good on Selvaria if I draw it, so I'll pass on this one.

Coolies. Edy looks great in that uniform, though that's an awfully big gun she's carrying.

Heh, least he didn't have her lugging around an M249. I hate Edy with a passion, but even I must grudgingly admit that that picture is pure badass (Though it looks like she has the safety off ).

If you're going with an M14 variant for a sniper, I've always been partial to the USMC M14 DMR (or the M39 Enhanced Marksman Rifle, if you want to jump 20 minutes into the future), but now that you mention it that M200 is looking MIGHTY nice... *drool*

Huh. Ask me, the gun could stand to be a bit larger, mounted on a vehicle, and used as AAA.

Or, give her a shoulder fired Flak Cannon.

I am interested in seeing what the Lancer and Sniper type look like if they were put into gear such as this.

Probably the angle playing tricks to the eye on this one, the upper body being viewed from almost sideways and the legs being out of the frame.

Also remember that Edy is a short girl while her usual assault rifle in the game/series (looks shorter than an AK-47 without a stock as shown here) was pretty small too compared to this FN SCAR-L (35 inches long). The handgrip gave me the size reference before putting the the rest.

I wanna see some artwork of Nadine <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 sometime, hope someone draws something soon...I'm terrible, I even tried picking up how to draw manga books so I could try, but 3 months in and I still can't get the hang of it. They're harder to draw then they look, the eyes alone require SO much detail, time and patience.

Well, if we're going with US/Western equipment and interpret the Lancer MOS as more general 'rocketeer' than AT specialist, I expect things like the SMAW to be common primary armament (the lance-formed weapons seen in the game present too many ergonomic and stowage issues to be practical; however, the specialty name has hung on as a historical nod). Those Lancers oriented towards tank-busting would, naturally, have access to the Javelin and its kin.

At the risk of taking this thread far off-topic, from sometime in the sixties up until the ninties, "Lancer" could have been the term for a German antitankman; this is due to the fact that the German AT Rocket at the time was the PzF 44 Lanze (or, Lance), which was developed from the Panzerfaust. It's been since replaced by the Panzerfaust 3, which also bears a slight resemblence to the VC lances (albiet much shorter in length).

For comparison:
Spoiler for Size:

A lot of the NATO (US Specifically) rocket propelled shoulder fired weapons like the AT4, Carl Gustav Recoilless Rifle, M72 LAW, etc. are shaped like the memorable WWII Bazookas. The Gundam franchises for example, LOVES the Bazooka and calls almost every MS carried rocket launcher a Bazooka. There's even beam cannons that referred to as Beam Bazookas. if Valkyria Chronicles loves Lances, then Gundam loves Bazookas.

That's why I brought up the PzF 44 and Panzerfaust 3. With some style changes, they and the RPG7 would fit in as 'recoiless lances.' Of course, the artist has thusfar used unmodded NATO/US Army weapons, rather than the more suiting Styer AUG and the G6.
