Ugh, the current chapter I'm working on is going to be the death me. At the rate it's going at, it'll be the longest chapter I've ever written (Current record is 14,500 words). I'll do it though. I know my readers want to see that mud wrestling scene badly. :P

I've been thinking of splitting this chapter into two, but I'm afraid that might piss my readers off. If i did, this chapter would be about 11,000 words long and the second would be between 6000 and 7000. What do you guys think? Should I do it? If I don't, it'll be another week before the (rediculously long) chapter is posted.

I'd go for splitting it, but then again, I've only done oneshots.

There's no way you can piss off the readers. Unless you delay the mud wrestling scene for longer than the "second season", or unless you can whip up something more annoying and repetitive than Endless Eight minus the awesome ending, everyone for the most part will be happy. There's always going to be someone bitching about something, though with this story it'd be hard to find something to complain about.

If you're sure that the first part of the currently massive, unsplit chapter is done and won't need to be polished or edited too much, then I'd say go for it. That might just be me being greedy and wanting to read more without having to wait, though.

I'm thinking you should scrap it and make every chapter a time loop of the kissing scene. Haruhi would have wanted it that way.

Trust me, I wouldn't think you would be irritating readers if you split it in half. You've been pretty good when it came to updating compared to others. (I am guilty for my bad update status) I've split a chapter in two before, and sometimes it is better. And I think it works if you can find a good point to stop or set up some suspense.

I already think 10k words is really big, so you might want to cut this down. Reading 13k or more I'd say sort of turns reading the fanfic into a chore because there's soooooooo much to cover. You may have posted a chapter that big before, but you should think about how it looks from the reader's perspective.
