Though not explicitly stated, Tanya's nonplussed statement about losing one of her men to a rotten potato implies that she did not lose any men to other causes -- signaling that contrary to the fakeout earlier in the episode, her unit did not lose any men.

It may be something different, maybe that scene is signalling, that on battlefield you may die or something for quite silly reasons too.

PS. It may sounds funny, but pretty often weather, diseases, lack of food/water and similar things decimated whole armies more, than actual combat.

That scene with the potato happens before the scene when she lost men in combat, that's why.

Her first casualty is from a potato indeed.

Also, casualty here didn't mean death but retiring from the unit. That man IIRC didn't die from the food poisoning.

I note that Tanya keeps her promises. In her recruitment poster she promised glory and honour for her troops. Despite the man not leaving due to injury, Tanya got him two medals for his time. The man can go home with pride and have something to show for it.

Tanya might be all about Human Resources, but she still is all about holding up her end of the bargain.

Yeah, I think so. Among all the Chinese website, only this one called youku put about 26 episodes while the others didn't.

Ex. Tiger Mask W, Twin Star Exorcists, etc. We'll have to wait for official confirmation eventually but it could be split.

Somewhere I read that volume two is the biggest of the series, and that the next volumes are smaller.

I really hope for a season 2, and I think they will make an anime original season ending while thinking of the next one.
