You guys lost me there. Am I missing something?
I don't see anything indicating the breaking of T x H ship as of the latest Vol. Actually I don't even see any logical possibility. Unless Heartseed pulls off a history reset, which wouldn't make sense at all.
Or are we talking about something else?

Inaba changed her name to 'Dereban' That should give you some idea...

That still holds true even after reading some of the novels and looking up the spoilers. His story may be interesting, but as a character, I don't care about him. He could turn into the villain for all I care and I'd still find him boring.

Now that that negativity is out of the way, wow. Kokoro Connect really does try to tackle issues maturely doesn't it? Hopefully, that awful dialogue is toned down so I can actually appreciate that fact.

Curious, do the other characters suffer from a lack of development even after 8 volumes? I've only glanced over at discussions, but it seems like the focus is on Inaba and Taichi. Correct me if I'm wrong though.

Spoiler for focus as of now:

Vol. 1 Hito Random - Prologue with focus tilt slightly more towards Iori
Vol. 2 Kizu Random - Inaba
Vol. 3 Kako Random - Yui & Aoki, with a small bit of Iori at the end
Vol. 4 Michi Random - Iori
Vol. 5 Clip Time - Short Stories
Vol. 6 Nise Random - Chihiro & Shino
Vol. 7 Yume Random - Taichi
Vol. 8 Step Time - Short Stories

Spoiler for Aoki:

Depending on how you define "development", Aoki is the only one who doesn't change much through out the current 8 volumes. It's because he's the only one who doesn't have any major flaws, as he always stays true to him self. Easy going, usually the receiving end of jokes, but very independent, rational and never falters from his principals. Which is why at one point, Heartseed comments that he's "boring" because the gimmicks doesn't affect him as much as the others. Aoki's main challenge comes in Kako Random, which is the only time he was seriously in doubt. But that's it. The next time we see any major spot light it's Yume Random where we see some of his family background and his belief. I still think people are giving less credit than he deserves. I guess the "unwavering" type just aren't much fun on screen eh?

Spoiler for Yui:

Is an interesting case. While most of her problem stems from her phobia, that story pretty much ended in Kako Random. Like Aoki, the next time we see major spotlight on her is Yume Random, which tackles her ideals. The only problem is that, her story in that arc is used more as a supporting device for Taichi's story.

Spoiler for Inaba:

Inaba's personal story concluded in Kizu Random. Her only problem stems from acceptance of herself. As soon as she learns that, she rapidly develops throughout the later volumes and becomes a driving force to reckon with as she no longer fears nor does she ever doubts her believes and is the only one to actively play against Heartseed. She becomes a key character in facing both Iori and Taichi's problems in Michi Random and Yume Random respectively. Learning the taste of love sure does change a character dramatically.

Spoiler for Taichi:

I'm not gonna say much since I already said almost everything about him in earlier posts. He gets spotlight in every volume that leaves a bunch of foreshadowing concerning his problems. And Yume Random picks up all of those and tackle Taichi in full. It took the varying amount of effort of everyone in C.R.C., direct or indirectly, to finally solve his problem. His story ends in Yume Random.

Spoiler for Iori:

Although Iori's playing the masks seem to have resolved in Michi Random, since she obviously don't have doubts about herself anymore as of Yume Random, I have a feeling she WILL be playing a major role in the final arc. There is something about her development I sense that are not quite right but I'm not sure what it is. She obviously stopped worrying about playing the masks, she also seemed to have found a purpose and a dream. She seemed to have found herself as well. But something is amiss and I'm not sure what it is. I'm sure we'll find out soon.

Spoiler for Heartseed:

They've been showing signs of Heartseed becoming more and more active since Michi Random. And we even see hints where Heartseed is obviously seeking something from the C.R.C. members by Yume Random. With that GODDAMN cliffhanger at the end, I'm pretty sure we'll finally find out what Heartseed truly is. Did I mention that he's actually pretty nice compare to No.2?
