How do you know? Do you have spies inside Geneon USA? If so, can you lend me some? <.<

I don't think a license for it has even been announced yet.

It lists under i believe Co-producers "Geneon USA" in a nice english font. Therefore, it is considered licensed. (Geneon USA is somwhere in the credits, i dont remember where...see geneon usa name in credits thread before starting to argue that name in credits != license cause that was already discussed before).

And it's now in AS's licensed anime database, as mentioned in another thread earlier.

How can it not be licensed if this thread is in the license section of animesuki forum? Since the thread is in this section i think you can considerate it as licensed.

AnimeSuki considers all anime where a US anime company is mentioned in the credits
of the Japanese version (ie. as aired on Japanese TV) to be licensed by that company.

Latest example of this is Burn Up Scramble -- that series also had Geneon USA in
the credits and has been recently confirmed to be licensed by them at Anime Central 2004.

Having seen raws of La Verite, Geneon is listed as being a corporate sponser of the series. However, as far as I can tell, and from what I've learned talking to some folks I know over there, Geneon Japan is listed, not Geneon USA.

realistically, if La Verite is licensed, wouldn't that mean the first season is licensed too?

Well it seems as if la verite is somewhat of a remake of the original series.

Much improved, IMHO. The previous series was so bad that I felt like a masochist just watching the first couple of episodes. The "Hanaukyoo Maid Tai La Verite" series now, I find myself staying up to watch on TVK and preordering the discs.

still, it seems odd for Geneon (the company that holds all but 2 Tenchi Muyo licenses) to only license 1 part of a series...

As far as I know, "Hanaukyoo Maid Tai La Verite" isn't the second season of "Hanaukyoo Maid Tai". It's a retelling of the story. I remember watching the first episode, and while my Japanese is still poor, I do believe that the beginning had

Spoiler:

Just as well. I still think the earlier series was horrible with the intro of the allergy and all.
