Mochizuki Jun! Definitely going to check this out.
Not much more detailed, probably since only one chapter is out, but here's the one from Yen Press: Quote:
'Tis a good time to be a manga fan. Yen Press is on the ball with this one, getting it out so soon after release. Chapter is available for puchase on Amazon for $2.99. A bit pricey for one chapter, but it's an 80 page whopper, so I expect if this keeps up, future chapters should be cheaper. EDIT 2: Never mind. For some weird reason, this isn't available for Kindle PC's on Amazon. Check the list for devices it's available on before purchasing. Will check the other options later, but in the meantime, for those interested, Google Play has a ten page sample available. Last edited by BPD Renegade; 2015-12-25 at 00:59. |

Has anyone else read the chapter yet? It's like I'm seeing a bit of Alice and Oz again. It was a fantastic start, and that last page -- this is going to be another great ride. Mochizuki-sensei once again shows us her superb skills.
Wonder if Yen Press is going to be publishing the volumes in sync with Japan as well. I ended up buying the chapter from Kobo, but I'm not fond of their reader (curse your limited options, Amazon!), so it would be nice to just read the physical copy without waiting months/years. |

The updates for the manga have been kinda rough as of late, but I still put up with it for the most part... only to announce at the end of chapter 57 that the series will be going on an unspecified hiatus.
Also doesn't help that they drop this bomb on readers when literally just one page before, another member of the (thought to be extinct) Archiviste clan was revealed.

I'm fine with the author going on hiatus for reasons concerning their health, I'd never hold it against them for prioritizing their own well-being.
The only thing I'm mildly upset about is that if you were absolutely certain that you were going on hiatus, I'd prefer that you not drop a bomb like that and then say "see you whenever I'm well enough to continue". Because now I'll be stewing for months thinking about where this new plotline will go and how many other Archiviste clan members are out there.

T_T Ikr! This manga is so good and Vanitas as a character is so intriguing to learn about.
There're so many secrets he keeps that I'm just dying to know and every time we get to peek into his past, it's always a good time. I'll also be lying if I said I didn't look forward to some more Vanitas x Jeanne goodness. I've also always wanted to learn more about the Archiviste and their unique ability. Plus I'm still waiting for the almost-guaranteed situation where Noe will finally get to drink Vanitas' blood and peer into his memories. Now that will be an amazing time since I've yet to be disappointed when it comes to revelations about Vanitas' past (my personal fave moment being when Noe, Roland and Co. learned about his connection to Moreau). We've finally entered into the Archiviste sub-plot and things are gonna be shelved for who knows how long. The anticipation is gonna be killer.

A shame about the hiatus but at least the author managed to give the anime somewhat conclusive episode to the anime. We still haven't seen Vanitas' full reaction to his newfound feelings for Jeanne which seem effective enough to be from a shojo manga. A lot of other subplots remain open too liked the eyepatched redhaired vampire, Mikhail's arm, etc.
