Kugimiya should be fun as Kagura, and I can see Megumi Han doing a great job with Momiji .

I can also see Furukawa fitting Hatsuharu quite well .

Okitsu isn't who I would've picked for Hatori, but I imagine he'll do a solid job .

Sakurai as Ayame? It's been a while since I've heard Sakurai go full-ham, so this should be fun .

I couldn't get Romi Park out of my mind for the role, but I think Maaya Sakamoto will be great as Akito, and I think she'll be able to do a goo job of capturing Akito's character .

(Kind of makes me wish Kenichi Suzumura was Shigure though ).

I think it'd be kind of cool if they had Hocchan as Kyoko Honda, especially since that would be a very different role from Tohru .

Not expecting it to happen though .

Yeah, Takaya pretty much wants to salt the Earth wherever any trace of the original anime once stood. It's a real shame.

I mean, I've never actually watched it, so I'm kinda going in fresh anime-wise after just reading the manga, but I'm aware how special and fond people are of the original anime...although I'm looking forward to watching the remake on it's own terms .

As you should, because it is a very good manga, and it'll be great to see it adapted completely at last.

That said - and I know many readers of the manga who agree with me - I thought the anime was better than the manga in almost every respect. Almost all the changes Daichi made were improvements. He managed to spotlight the things the manga does best and downplay the ones it doesn't do so well. There's a reason Daichi is generally regarded as among the best (if not the best) shoujo directors in anime history.

^ Indeed. This case is even worse than Watsuki's case coz Daichi actively took part in oppressing those female seiyuus, not just consuming forbidden porn.
