I tend to disagree. Every kid has that experience of sneaking out at night for the first time, and Hotori made sure Takeru's was safe enough - all the places she took him were pretty innocent. I find she's noticeably more thoughtful of her own words and actions when Takeru is around - with the rest of the cast she's a complete natural disaster.

Pretty much Sanada was my hero the entire episode.

After watching episodes 1-7 two times, I could easily watch a 3rd time (in true SHAFT viewing methodology) This show delivers the entertainment, for the whole 24 minutes, OP and ED included.
It also has the most awesome drum-base-violin-accordion maid themed rock quartet on the planet. |

I also think it's safe to say the bath scene was not intended to be disturbing or titillating in any way - rather, I think it was placed to emphasize the closeness and easy familiarity Takeru and Hotori have in their relationship. Nudity is generally not nearly as big a taboo in Japan as in, for example, the US. Strangers bathe together all the time; in rural areas often in unisex baths, and larger onsen and sento usually have "family" baths were everyone in the family bathes together. I think for children as young as Takeru (9 or 10 years old) bathing with an older sibling or parent of either gender would be very common. Mitsudomoe is another good example of this - and Futaba was actually 12 in that series...

That might be my favorite episode yet. As Guardian Enzo says, the show seems to grow on me week by week. Hands up anyone who is still bothered by Omigawa-san's voice. Great comedy. I'm no fan of the shy teenage boy who refuses the opportunities he is given, but part one was great. And he did suggest they skip school, and he did get to hold hands with her. And she was so natural and unaware. It was fun.
But it's true that part two was even better. This may be the most natural sibling relationship I can remember seeing in anime. Arashiyama is wonderful, and so is Takeru (played by Tamura Mutsumi). Tamagawa, a river in Tokyo.

I just came across a video of an interview with Tamura Mutsumi, who plays Takeru (the little brother). She also played the male lead in Asobi ni Iku yo. She is being interviewed by MAKO (who was Yurie in Kamichu, and stars in Koe de Oshigoto), on her TV show "Anime Alien" (Anime Seijin).

Hotori is such a good older sister, i wish i have such a cool sister when i was young.... Except the taking bath together. I will love so, but i afraid for my innocence (because surely i will lose it )
Actually, i will prefer a girlfriend like her (or her to be my girlfriend..., wow i love English). Her voice is just so SO SWEET when she's with her brother... And headshot!! Nice Hotori PS: I won't mind to watch this anime once a week for the rest of my life. Probably one of the best show for 2010

I swear I haven't been addicted to an ending this fucking unique in like forever.
Seriously I usually get caught up in some j-pop that's catchy for like a week or electronica to run to at the gym, but this song is sooooooooooooooo good~!
