So, for those who have finished E5, what's the best formation for the non boss nodes?
Testing left and right, and I feel like any other choice other than all out (fourth formation) is a waste of time for some reason. The seiki damage output is just stupid to no end...

For regular battles (no ASW, no air-strike-only), the combined fleet formations other than the fourth one is pointless imho.

Now I'm going to lvl Akagi up that one last level and get her a kai and then - well then i will ingore the event for a few days to get some fuel

I'm unsure should I upgrade Fusou to her Kai/BBV version too or leave her as a regular BB? She gains some HP, though looses attack power :/

Ise , Fusou class are worth re classing into BBV

Ise class has the best dodge BB wise while Fusou sisters if you have medals have pretty good fire power

on E 5 hard still scratching my head on how get through that You shall not pass aircraft carrier princess/demon she manages to crit at 2 ships , most the time

Is there a way to make the support fleet any useful? Having extreme trouble at E4, despite cakewalking to the boss node. Only 2 for 9 in terms of finishing that CV hime.

Sparkling will help increase accuracy yes. Though it won't be of much help if the target fleet is riddled with heavy armored vessels like Wo and Ru Kai.

on boss support e 4 final run radars plus 2 red main on 2DD , on 2BB/V 3 red main cannon plus the best radar, the CVL all bombers manged to kill off the 2 pesky DD and minor damage the BB ( I think it was dmg first by KTKM opening torp strike taking a bit of it's HP )

I've been stuck at E5 boss final kill for the last dozen or more kills. I forgot to count it... urgh. Doing this on hard is self-inflicted punishment. I don't recommend people doing it if they haven't at least 100k resources all to burn.

Okay, E4 clear. That was straining my nerves. 17 sorties, 13 boss trips, 3 sinkings of the CV hime, 2 S victories. Bowing my head to goddess Kitakami. Headed for another empty trip before she decided that she's had enough and dealt out over 400 damage with the CV hime still having 320 left. Net reduction of the resource pool by 10.000 fuel, 8.000 ammo, 11.000 steel, 1.000 bauxite and 40 buckets.

Fleet composition:
Akizuki (82) - 2x 10cm HA with AAFD, Type 13 radar
Kongō (119) Nagato (72) - 1x 46cm, 1x 41cm prototype, Type 0 observation, Type 91 AP

2FBB 2CV 2CVL did the trick for the final kill of E2 (and bosskill support exped too).

Notable drops: Agano x2 (from Double Ru Cockblock). Hatsukaze and Asashimo. The rest were ships I already had.

You got Asashimo? So envious, haha. My drops through E4 were crappy aside from finally getting Kiyoshimo. I could've banged my head against the wall after one of my only two S-victories at E4 netted me Takao. orz

After I took a break I finally cleared E-3.


Shigure saved my ass. Was scared because boss had 178 HP left and only had Shigure's turn and her cut-in didn't disappoint xoxo.

I have given Akashi as fleet flagship as well as All kongou team a couple of tries, and I don't advise for either approaches for E5. You need all the hitting power that you can get, so it is wiser to simply retreat when you land on the whirlpool than to gimp your composition just to avoid the whirlpool.

You are not likely to succeed at killing the boss if you land at the whirlpool, simple as that.
