AFAIK, even the novel readers couldn't catch it. Supposedly the reason Kawakami mentioned was to defend Sunrise that the studio did actually animate it, he himself probably didn't see it unless you really break the entire thing down frame by frame. I don't think he denied at all that scene's incredibly hard to see.

Unless you have read the novel. The reason why she did that is mainly to get rid of unnecessary weight to increase her own body speed and attack speed.

[Motonobu Thought Process]

MY STUDENT DAUGHTER IS DEAAAAADDDDD.

Hmmm, she pretty much acts like an automaton to begin with, so why not...

IMPLANT HER SOUL INTO AN AUTOMATON! IT'LL BE JUST LIKE HORIZON ALL OVER AGAIN! BEST PLAN EVER!

Hmmm, wait, I have this crazy plan on causing a global shitstorm by creating superweapons, made of human souls...

LETS JUST USE SOME OF MY VESSELS, WAIT I HAVE (ALMOST) NONE LEFT!!!

Wait a minute, I have my dead daughter here...

LETS JUST USE HER. SURELY SOME ROBOT MANIAC IN SHINING ARMOR WILL FALL IN LOVE WITH HER AND SAVE THE WORLD WHILE THEY'RE AT IT!! AFTER ALL, MY STRONGEST VASSAL IS ALSO ONE!

I got lost a little bit in the parallel argument, but salvaged something at the end. Quite an original confession. Toori's declaration of war surely didn't come out of an idiot's mouth. He knew exactly what he was doing while saying it.

Can't have the MC killing himself with his own power at the very last episode, especially after a Big Damn Hero moment lol.
Ahh, I can't believe I didn't take the fact that it could be a flashback into consideration. Next ep can't come soon enough~

So Futayo disconnected Tonbokiri in her fight with Muneshige? Welp, I guess I gotta go watch this episode again.

@Futayo's weapon
It becomes thinner at the end of the fight and at the end you see her putting it back together.

lol didn't think I'd see someone else thinking the same thing!

Well now this episode was something else, I mean I tagged episdoe 9 as the best of the year bu then when a series has such a episode it's a good hacne a following one will be even better and I got that now.
This episode was just wonderful to watch.

The wonderful thing about this was the scenes between Toori and Horizon, thats some brillaint work from the VA, Studio and source material.

But the absolute great thing was how the scenes got to me emotionally without being actually overly dramatic.
Horizon was still deadpan and Toori was still Toori, no use of great emotinal experssions yet it totally got to me, haven't felt like that since Clannad I think and thats a whole different kinda series.
And even still for a action series to get to me(since One Piece) is something else as well, I generally don't get emotional with action series no matter how sappy and sad they can be.

Also helps they have that perfect piece of music that fits with the scene sooooo well(still wondering what that song is)

And then there is Futayo, she's really really grown on me now.
At first I wasn't sure of Kobayashi Yu as her VA but she's made it work.
Futayo is so endearingly charming in her own odd way.
Not to mention her fight with Muneshige was awesome!

The real problem here is theres no 11 out of 10 option in the poll.
This goes beyond perfect.

after understand the dialogue (jud. my patience is wearing thin this week so... ><), It's turn out like the preview that stuopidget's post last week, it was soooo sweet~

the music was awesome as always and I'm liking "piece" more and more. already 2 (very/really/whatever) epic episodes ended with that song (9 and 12).

so why Horizon was running/hiding from Toori again?

I think it's more than because Toori said that her cooking was bad

Horizon didn't want Toori to see her crying mainly and since she treated them as equals, she only wanted to see Toori when she was smiling.
At least that's what i understand from the subtitles.

Seeing Toori's strong conviction and absolute devotion to Horizon is something I'm not used to after watching so many RomCom series... I'm more familiar with ambiguity and alot of "Its-not-what-it looks-like"

This would be bad if I start to compare other Romcom shows with Horizon from now on

What if I can't like them like I use to ?

It's on parallel lines.

Because with Toori... "It-IS-what-it-looks-like."

Excelent, magnificent, perfect, sublime, beautiful, heartwarming, touching, moving!
Everyting, every single detail in this episode is perfect. The way the Soundtrack plays along , the detail, the the uhhh I'm repeating myself now
This has to be the best confession scene, if you can call it a scene, I've seen.
Ever since I saw the PV, I knew this wouldn't let me down. I lost count of how many times I have seen this episode already.
