Show with many badass characters

Hi everyone.

I'm looking for shows that feature many "badass" characters, i.e. characters who are very strong and competent, have fearsome reputation, each of them is a powerhouse on their own and when two such characters clash together the whole world literally explodes.

Some examples of such shows are Baccano, Durarara, TTGL, Sengoku Basara, Black Lagoon, FMA Brotherhood, etc.

Also, I'm looking for more recent shows, so there is no need to suggest Hokuto no Ken or Berserk (which I know about already).

Here's an (almost) comprehensive list of what I've seen/dropped.

http://myanimelist.net/animelist/Darklord_bg

Thanks in advance.

You might give Phantom ~Requiem for the Phantom~ a try.

Or Brave10, though I must warn the plot is not very convincing. But hey, plenty of badass characters, so you might like it.

Fairy Tail has a lot of strong characters. Whenever the top mages get to business, most of city gets destroyed.

Mirai Nikki is full of psychos like Baccano. The only exception is Yukki who is a total whimp. Bunch of stuff explodes there

Berserk doesn't have bunch of strong characters but main is really strong and alone can take on 100 opponents.

Hmmm, I guess you could try Deadman Wonderland where main charas can turn their own blood into weapons (swords, bombs, whips and etc.)

With a more childish setting I guess you could try Katekyo Hitman Reborn!, not my cup but is liked by many. Though first 20 episodes are a pain. Once you get pass that good stuff starts. You can actually skip through most of those 20 episodes.

Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom is about professional assassins. More serious series.

Sword of the Stranger is a movie with some of the best sword action moments. Two really strong swordsman clash in epic fight at the end.

If you have played Tekken games, you might want to check Tekken: Blood Vengeance. Story vise it is weak but action wise has some nice fights.

Hellsing Ultimate OVA series. Not that many characters (when compared to Baccano!, for example), but I'd say the action alone in that series trumps the ones listed in this thread (save maybe for Berserk). Supernatural beings (zombies, vampires) collide. What ensues is a lot of blood and explosions. The gore in this series is not compromised and rule of cool reigns.

I'll add more suggestions:

Fate/Zero: Badass heroes from the past and powerful magicians are summoned & gathered in the 90s and having a battle royale. Need I say more?

Have you seen Beelzebub? There’s a lot of clash between badasses in it if you don’t mind highschool gangs.

Also, how about History’s Strongest Disciple Kenichi? There are so many martial-artist badasses, many clashes, and many earth-shattering fights in that anime.

Saint Seiya: Lost Canvas has badass Gold Saints fighting powerful Specters.

Needless. Badass main guy and some badass opponent he fought.

If you like Trigun, might as well watch Gungrave.

I know that not all of them are new, but I think you can still enjoy them if you haven't seen them.

Shin Mazinger Z, a show with the entire cast so bad ass that the mother is even more badass than the hotblooded main character.

In your "Plan to Watch List" --> Densetsu no Yuusha no Densetsu (a.k.a The Legend of the Legendary Heroes). This is badass to the max. Just don't judge it by its first episode. And keep an eye out for Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei when it comes out in the future.

I heavily recommend Redline. It's a racing film packed with so much badassery from almost every character it's not even funny.

The currently running series Jormungand looks like it'll provide plenty of badassery as most of the characters, including the youngest one Jonah, have military backgrounds

Considering your request, it is surprising the Dragon Ball is no where on your list.

A Certain Magical Index aka To Aru Majutsu no Index would especially fit your request.

You might also try Chrome Shelled Regios, Full Metal Panic (I saw you've seen Fummufu but not the main storyline), Read or Die OVA, Soul Eater, Ranma 1/2 (the later chapters of the manga anyway), Shakugan no Shana, Last Exile.
