Exclamation Need suggestions for a very action packed anime with great animation.

Just in the mood for something like Sengoku Basara, Tenjou Tenge or Kurokami The Animation, that's filled with martial arts, great animation and some crazy action.

That's what I'm after! So, can anything match or better that awesome scene from Hokuto no Ken: Raoh Gaiden?

Naruto + Shipuuden has some of the worst animation ever and also some of the best animation ever for a TV show. I guess they save their budget up for the major battles which feature great choreography and lots of actual animation.

Seirei no Moribito has some excellent fighting scenes, but be aware that this is not at all the point of the show. People who came for the action left disappointed by the emphasis on character development.

Noein also has some amazing fighting animations, but it's totally unlike anything you listed.

These have impressive martial arts and action scenes, and are both well worth watching:
Seirei no Moribito
Cowboy Bebop
(particularly the movie)

I have not actually watched these, but from what I have seen, they have great action scenes:
Sword of the Stranger
Karas

Full Metal Panic is also fun to watch as an action anime, as is Muteki Kanban Musume. However, they are not pure action, but more action plus comedy. Both are very good.

Mai Hime
has some great action scenes as well, but is more like FMP in that some episodes will go by with no action at all.

Berserk and Elfen Lied are full of bloody-gory action; Berserk is poorly animated, but Elfen Lied is done quite well and has impressive fighting scenes.

This is already listed but FMP and Seirei no Moribito have some pretty good action scenes.

While I love Seirei no Moribito, and it contains one of the most impressive fight scenes I've ever seen, it would probably frustrate someone who has stated that his intention is to watch a "very action packed" anime.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure! What else? It is not martial arts but may fit you taste. I can't help but recommend it.

TTGL is beautifully animated (though many disagree about one particular episode) and certainly action-packed. It's more of the mecha variety and not martial arts, but it's damn good.

afro samurai really good action pack but short 5 episodes and a movie.
samurai champloo great animation long too and awesome fighting.
Basilisk great fighting loads of it like 2 battles every episode and a bit of love it in too.
Black lagoon has got quiet a bit of fighting but more with guns still really good

I'll second Black Lagoon and Sword of the Stranger

Black Lagoon is more "action" packed with lots of firefights.

Sword of the Stranger has some awesome sword fighting in it and very good animation. Not quite as action packed as BlackLagoon but the quality of the fights are very good (and the last one is VERY good).

i'm also at a shortage of awesome action anime with good animation. my favorites are (mostly already listed) in no particular order:
black lagoon
cowboy bebop
samurai champloo
samurai 7
elfen lied
full metal alchemist
hunter x hunter *animation is older, but this one cant be left out
scryed (silly and mindless, but fun)
vampire hunter D
hellsing
darker than black **highly recommended. loved it, strangely not oft mentioned

i also keep up on one piece naruto and bleach... i go through various phases of anger and episode skipping based on filler/stupidity, but i always go back and watch more :x

i've seen countless more series, but these are the ones that i can remember. if you see something that you think fits this list, please tell me so i can check if i've seen it or not. i'm goin thru withdrawals! >.<

For martial arts there's a Kenichi anime (History's strongest disciple Kenichi) although I've stuck to the manga so no guarantee on the quality.
On more general action:
Soul Eater
Black Cat
Fate/Stay night
Blood+
Samurai Deeper Kyo
Ninja Scrolls (really, avoid this if you can...but SOME people find it good)

Gekijouban Kara no Kyoukai: The Garden of Sinners? No one has suggested it so far.
