Now that the series has actually started we can finally get to one of my favorite part of this show...It's commentary on heroism!
I feel for Kota. I could never imagine losing my parents at such a young age. It makes his lashing out understandable because while everyone one else sees their deaths as noble sacrifices all this know is mom and dad are never coming back. Hopefully Kota will grow to accept the loss of his family and that they didn't just leave him behind. Hard hiting stuff I as always. On a lighter note turn the camping trip into a surprise bootcamp was sick move on UAs part. I understand training to students to be ready for anything but it's summer for God's sake have a heart guys.

Also, interestingly, I never got the feeling with the women in Japan either. Sure they do place an emphasis on marriage, but I do notice a lot of 20 somethings who are quite happy to be 20 somethings and are living it up as 20 somethings. Iida is definitely straight-laced, but Strange? He's basically slightly less of a playboy than Stark, though not so much nowadays I guess.

Unfortunately, the villains aren't waiting for them to have a heart. The kids have put themselves in harm's way just by signing up for UA, and they need to be made ready as soon as possible or they aren't going to live through that choice.

Decided to skip the recap so this is the first episode I've watched. And its looks like we're going to be in for a great time.
But man, what ever happened to Uverworld? They used to be very good, but now they kind of suck. (Or at least the short versions of their songs aren't being used well) |

I can imagine not having to look over your shoulder when you're just going to the mall to shop.

It would probably be a bit less demanding. For example the test against the teachers was originally supposed to be against robots, but the faculty decided that the kids needed to be more prepared so they ended up changing it. Without the villains being active, they might have just stuck to the original test.

Of course that's part of the pressure on Deku. He alone (of the students) knows just how bad shape All Might is in and that he's the next generation, but he's still got a long, long way to go. |

2nd episode did show me the results of their training and the experiences they have been through up till now. They really were a rag tag group of students before. But in the forest they showed they could work together as a class as team. They even seem to take into account each others powers and combine them to defeat an enemy. mentally they definitely have grown and their control over their quirks are coming more fine tuned. But physically with the exception of Deku they have not grown. They have spent so much time focusing on controlling their quirks that psychically getting stronger was an afterthought.
Once again the villains find out where our young heros will be and are preparing something special. I hope the baddies dont think its going to be easy especially against the top 4 in the class

I'll admit it. I just wanna see what she looks like. But your suggestion would potentially make her one of the more OP heroes--which wouldn't be a bad thing, right? |

I have to wonder if Hagakure is just able to turn visible whenever she wants to and just chooses not to because she's insecure about her appearance. But I'm sure there was something along the way that shoots that theory down and I just forgot about it

Yep. I keep thinking it really sucks for her. Even in a society that's very accepting of weird quirks, not only she'd have a lot of practical problems (cutting her hair or nails, being visited by a doctor, etc.), she'd still have to live with the fact that she does not have a visible face. That's a new whole level of insecurity, especially when it comes to romantic interactions .

Hagakure's quirk is perfect for stealth, but she needs to strip naked in order to make full use of it, which is pretty damn inconvenient, so being able to turn things invisible would get rid of that drawback too. And yeah, it's be a good thing if she could turn visible if she wished it too.
