ESA Downsizes E3
[The] Entertainment Software Association (ESA) will announce changes to the format and scale of the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) ... the show would radically shrink in size and move from its usual Los Angeles Convention Center (LACC) venue to a smaller location.

ESA runs E3, ESA represents video game publishers, video game publishers obviously don't want to overspend on trade shows, so naturally they want to downsize.
As long as the press coverage remains at comparable levels, there would be no difference. Having fewer attendants doesn't automatically mean they will have fewer presentations. Although if they do downsize the show content then it could be bad for E3. Most people only see E3 over the internet anyways. This last E3 had great coverage from dozens of sites. |
