A nice piece of insert music in episode 12! Fairy Tail's music is really top-notch.

If only the animation can catch up though........ I really, really, hate the stills! Why can't they execute the magical moves like the newest Negima OVA? That'd have been awesome.

On another note, great to see some of Gray's background in this episode. I also like how thoughtful and deep he's become here. oh, and on stripping for once.

Episode 12 was pretty good. The new OP and ED are good too. This is a good anime overall, but like what people has been saying, the stills kill the buzz way too much.

I mean most mangaka would waste a ton of time but Kishi jumped right into it, Which is why i think it was so unique and great in the first place.

We don't exactly know how much budget this show gets, but with two studios with great budgets(and they know how to spend it the right way), and a director who has not dissapointed in the past, you would think it would be great, but instead it's below mediocre animes out there.

Now, I'm not 100% on this, but I have a theory. Hiro Mashima had a lot of offers from many different studios, but declined them all, because he didn't want FT to become like RAVE. We don't know what he meant by that. It could have been lack of animation quality, could have been that he didn't like how DEEN treated RAVE, or have it ending half way through the series. Now, I've been working on animation here lately (working on Natsu vs Gerard actually), and I've also been studying it, so I've frame advanced some of the scenes, and I have to say, I think they are doing it on purpose, because they are going for the younger viewers. Why, I don't know, but they can get away with cheap stills and such, while at the same time making money, because young children don't mind as much. That's why it's censored down the way it is. I'm not sure why they went with the young audience for, because the majority of the audience is at least 13+, Unless Mashima wanted it that way, which I woundn't understand why.

I think you might have a point.

If it wasn't for the fact that earlier fights were so poorly received I would have assumed exactly that at least about the scenes where Gray was being flung into things. It emphasizes the point when he hits the walls while at the same time actually being less violent. When I saw those scenes I thought "He doesn't look like he's trying his best" which I'm thinking he might not be.

New OP / ED , well not so great , just normal .
Animated fight are so-so . The backstory was meh too .
Well , Ice maker dynamic vs Ice maker static , Dynamic owns .
Leon could have killed Natsu but like the others "bad guy" in manga they are so soft and dumb .
Erza will rescue them ! Will she wear an ice armor this time lol .
No blood , it's a shame . Damn censorships .
Dunno for manga version but anime version is so-so .

Glad to see the series back after it's short break. Grey is continuing to impress me, Lyon seems pretty cool too. I'm wondering if Grey's mentor wasn't an older sister, they look similar.

Not a bad episode. It covered quite a bit of material, and ended at a good point if you ask me.

Best scene of the episode for me was the whole jokes surrounding Lucy and her hole , especially Happy calling her an idiot.

I seriously laughed so hard during Natsu's fight with the two wizards. First how her beats big eyebrows is just so madness, and the conclusion to the fight with the dog (if you want to call it a fight ) is just so stupid , genius.

Also rather liked the anime original part added for Taurus trying to stop attacking Lucy, together with that really nice flashback scene. I love when anime original scenes add more layers to a character.

Next episode, angry Erza!

This was pretty nice. The struggle near the end was pretty good. A real battle of wills with Lucy's magic being turned on her. That was seriously close to be sure. Of course she's still at a serious disadvantage since her magic is out of the question and she'll have to fight physically. Still not a bad job dropping the giant rat out of the sky .

Natsu shows he's both an idiot and yet has moments of cleverness. Falls into the obvious trap, but does trick the guy into hitting himself with his own magic.

Erza is coming which means they are all doomed though . They can only hope to settle the situation before she destroys them.

so wrong..... How could Natsu call another "idiot" when he himself is a super-idiot already?! It's cool watching him defeat that dog guy without lifting a finger, but I wonder whether it's a bit out of character for him to go for tricks.

As for Lucy... lol.... Her contract with Taurus is supposed to be emotional (or not?).

Natsu still wants us to watch Fairy Tail in a brightly lit room. Too bad I thought they may have ended up having a new character say it each episode.

This episode seems to prove that Natsu, Happy and Lucy pool their intelligence. I mean pitfall trap? While Natsu had that clever idea against the Paralyze Claw dog and the elbow thruster attack. And he took a page out of Erza's book a punched his ally in the gut.
So Dispell, Paralyze Claw and Doll magic in this episode.

I'm so glad this is a kid's show though. The Taurus scene was awkward enough but I thought the emotional pay-off was worth it. But it seems that the first golden key may have just been sitting in a cow field. Maybe a noble cow **** it out.
For Gray's arc he didn't do much this episode though.

Happy's lecture was great though. I wonder whether we'll learn about Erza or Gray next week.

Fairy Tail ost 1 is out. Awesome! It has the latest music for Grey's emotional moment, but it's only instrumental.....

The soundtrack is packing a lot of tracks we've heard so far in the series, which is a very good sign. Overall i'm really impressed with it, especially the whole pirate theme a lot of pieces have.

My god, the slow version of the main theme is so damn epic, it's insane.
