There are several things that got to me during the Arlong arc, but one thing in particular comes to mind: Bellemere getting shot in the flashback. Especially the way it was animated in black&white like a slideshow made it more dramatic.

I think that in each and every history ep of SH I cried, and not only 1st time watching (or reading) it, I was watching Dried Ossan for the 4th time being targeted by a tornado, and I still shaded a tear XD

There are many emotional scenes in One Piece (although, in my case, not leading to the sobbing level, stopping at the tears coming level).

The most recent one, Robin's emotional breakdown.

The way Sanji's reaction was portrayed when he noticed that Zeff was missing his leg (I guess there was a highly music was played at that time, too, increasing the impact of that).

Nami asking for help from Luffy around the ime she was stabbing herself near the tattoed area in her shoulder, again, Nami crying for her thanks to Luffy, after she saw what he was doing in the room she worked as a children till she bled.

Chopper being thrown outside by Dr. Hiluluk, and Chopper hurting himself to make Hiluluk accept him into his house once again.

Vivi attacking Luffy talking about what she can or she cannot do, and allowing Luffy to make her realize the importance of friendship. That was a really nice scene. Again, Vivi shouting to stop the war, then, Nami, hearing that, crying and making others to go and save as many as possible.

There might be many more, but these are the first that come to my mind.

Never really made me sob, but the best moment in one piece is in the arlong act imo.
Anime ep 37 I believe, when I saw that i was hooked.
But in general one piece got a nice feel about it.

I think the thing about Norland during the Skypiea arc was the saddest.

The best "sad" moments in the entirety of One Piece so far for me (have only watched to the Foxy Arc) are:

That Episode in the Arlong Arc...you know which one I'm talking about.
NORLAND

I don't think I was ever close to tears while watching/reading one piece. Though I'm not one to be moved to tears very often, and from anime/manga I recall only one such occasion were I was on the verge of tears, and that was Hikaru no Go. I think the main difference to me is that while OP has it's serious character moments it's really a comical manga at heart, which makes me a little bit more distant to the characters in terms of feeling their emotions.

Definitely Chopper's past... that's something that even Nami's past can't rival.

I felt for Tony the Chopper earlier before the mushroom part when he got chased by villagers calling him ' Bakemono ' . He was just lonely and needed companionship and well they took his freindliness for hostility . that part was sad . Ifelt sad for Docterina too it was funny how Docterina expressed her sadness .

Well OP isn't that emo imo, but maybe that's just me if you read stuff like deep love, mars and watched saikano, kiminozo. This seems like the teletubbies, so I never cried the emoness wasn't that deep either, cause there's no angst, but I find that good. Most mangas live on emoness and just want you to get depressed, so this is a nice change. :O
