I can't really tell if this a progression between our protagonists or not, as I'm not familiar with Chinese. (I understand a little, but Adachi's manga has something more than understanding the word, it needs you to read what's hidden between the sentences.

One of the thing I don't like about Adachi works is the cryptic hints he drops. That hint could be good or bad.

Yep, they're in their third year now. If they loose, the dream is gone. 1st year was the first stringers, 2nd year they got defeated by the team they're about to face again.

Lol totally forgot, you are right, been awhile since I followed this. Well Koshien is a sure shot now but Akane is probably still a tossup.

Yeah, the loss in their second year was really lame. They lost to a team that only had two good players!

Frankly I haven't seen a well-rounded team since Meiwa in H2. And even that team had nothing resembling a starting rotation!

if you think about it, Kou's team only have two "good players" and I mean your definition of "good players" is people in the yuuhei and Kou league.

Kou's"lie" is starting to get on my nerves. It already bugged me when Senda asks him if he likes Aoba in chapter 150.
Well, the two stars of the team are obviously Kou and Yuuhei. But at least Nakanishi and Akaishi are decent.
Now even I also have the feeling that Akane's operation is gonna fail. It makes me feel like Wakaba dies twice. Although if Akane's operation is a succes, I wonder what's gonna happen to KouxAoba. He actually says that he likes Akane right ?

I don't have a clue what are they talking about though The chapter end with the team going to the match and Akane's operation I'm not Akane's fan but I still hope she won't die __________________

Kou feels Aoba is concerned about something. Aoba says that she was on the phone with Akane last night. Kou asks and Aoba says its a secret. Akane then asks Kou if he likes Akane. Kou says yes. Aoba asks how Akane compares to Wakaba. Kou says it is unfair to compare the living with the dead. Then Aoba asks the good part HOW AKANE COMPARES TO HERSELF O.O"" Kou asks if he can lie. Thats basically the meat of it. Spoiler for my thoughts: I have a feeling Akane is going to die. Very Adachi Mitsuru like plot device. They are only in their first year in highschool and in Adachi Mitsuru manga they usually dont go to the Koshien the first time around. The big hint is in the first page. "A summer they will never forget" either points to a Koshien win or a Akane death. Guess it depends on how fast Adachi Mitsuru wants Cross Game to end but Ill bet on Akane dying. As for AobaxKou this is good news. Its kind of obvious that Akane told Aoba that she likes Kou and that Kou has feelings for Aoba edit: Its not the first year but the third.
