After looking around a bit myself, the only other Touda I've come across is the one in the manga of Yami no Matsuei (Descendants of Darkness). He's described as a huge black winged serpent, who, in his human form wears a visor over his eyes to inhibit his powers. (Wikipedia - someone has done alot of work listing detailed info).

I have the anime, but I don't recall seeing Touda in those. However, the series was very short and didn't cover everything in the manga. I'll have to have a look at the manga - not one I've collected, but I might now.

In the manga Qwan, vol 2, there's a character named Touda. She's a giant serpant and a gardian of a great forest.

The original novels were actually shoujo, so despite the anime series being shounen it has a large female following because they make Masahiro look cute, i.e. like a girl ;p

On a side note, we're hoping to push another episode out before Christmas.

Codex Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2004	Spoiler for episode 9: Like kiwi says, this episode is pretty good. While it does tend to cheesy theatrics and cliches, I can't say it was without satisfaction that I watched Masahiro summon the guardian deity of Kifune and that the other shikigami began to catch glimpses of the greatness that Seimei sees in his grandson. And while Guren's berserk episode walked down that same well-trod path of storytelling, it was still pleasant to see the depths of Guren's commitment to Masahiro - and vice versa. Overall, it was a very nice episode, with warm fluffy feelings and all that good stuff. Yup, this is shoujo, alright.

All though it is very zen for masahiro to give up all attachments, its very heartwarming that they can be together. I thoroughly enjoyed this ep, even though things are so well tied up right now that the show could end and I wouldnt feel any was wrong at all

After all, how many grand-dads would set their grandsons up with a princess =P ! As for the fight with Kyuuki... That's how a 'last boss' fight scene should be!! (I'm looking at you, Blood+ !) An excellent episode =)
