Looking for a happier anime after clannad

While im not really done with it yet but almost there . I watched the movie before starting After Story so it spoil the ending so I'm expecting it. Im looking for a comedy or a romance drama that has a nice happy ending that will cheer me up after Clannad After Story.

So far I watched

School Rumble
Toradora
GTO
Skip Beat!
Haruhi Suzumiya
Spice and Wolf
Itazura na Kiss
Nodame Cantabile and watching the Finale
Sora no Manimani

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Try Ouran Highschool. Romance and comedy, it's also a highschool slice of life anime.

Maison Ikkoku has a great happy ending.

Cross Game is ending next week, so I'll come back then and tell you if it counts as well, although so far I would think that it counts.

True Tears would be a good choice. So would Ghost Hound, though it's certainly different in style.

Cross Game? Ask me next week...

Cross Game, slightly discounting the first episode.

And yes, be sure to ask us next week.

I might even be so bold as to suggest Kanon, though I'm ducking as I do so. In my world-view it meets one of the OP's main requirements, and is the better KEY story altogether.

I watched Clannad just after watching Kanon (both are done by Key). Kanon is a bit sadder, but in the end it is a very satisfying (and happy) ending.
If you want even more works by Key, look at Air or Angel Beats (which will be airing sooner or later). If you want more happy stuff...this season I believe Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu is a nice light-hearted love comedy. Yutori-chan is pretty light-hearted and funny as well. Kimi ni Todoke could work as well, again if you happen to be looking for a love comedy.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I happy to hear Cross Game is ending next week been hearing alot of good things about this one. I just can't seem to watch on going series the one week wait is too long for me. I've been seeing Maison Ikkoku alot in suggestions looks kinda old but I guess I'll give that one a try been a while since I watched an older anime.

Yea but I guess I'm just use to the typical endings or maybe I just can't handle the sad stuff. It was the first sad anime I watched. Maybe I'll try and watch another depressing anime later on just need a happy one for now.

Just wondering are Key's works usually really sad at one point of the story?

As much I loved this show, it has a really big gut punch in episode nine. It's one of the most moving scenes I've seen and I'll admit it made me cry...

If you just want a comedy I highly recommend Cromartie Highschool. It's like School Rumble but with all the romance and boring bits cut out. It left me in stitches.

Ah! My Goddess might work, especially the newer TV series. It's a lighthearted romantic comedy with minimal angst/drama, so you don't have too worry too much about getting depressed or getting caught off guard by a hard-hitting episode.
