Anybody know a comedy anime similar to School Rumble, FMP - Fumoffu or Great Teacher Onizuka?

It can have sprinkles of drama or romance, doesn't matter to me, as long as its funny. The one thing I do want is a funny main character, like Harima Kenji, Sagara Sousoke, or Onizuka. Some other comedies I watched or am watching are Haruhi Suzumiya, Seto no Hanayome, Nagasarete Airantou, Hayate no Gotoku, Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan, and Mahoromatic.

Lets see...
I found Love Hina to be pretty funny.
Im watching Chobits right now and there are quite a few funny parts.

Yeah they were both funny...I watched them both. Maybe I should give a bigger list of anime I watched?

Yakitate Japan!!! ~ hilarious cooking type genre anime (specifically it's all about baking)
Galaxy Angel ~ random hilarious anime... funny and lots of cute girls

Tenshi na Konamaiki ~ School Rumble like anime w/ twist of Ranma
Midori Days ~ romance/school/fantasy anime, it's also a nice one...
Zero no Tsukaima is not bad either... also a highly recommendable..(season 2 is now ongoing...)

Lucky Star. o_O It's yeah just simple fun. (No panties shots though!)

Azumanga Daioh. D: Watching all eps in one go might be to much, but watching this series an ep a day might be better. It's the cultural and wtf kinda humor. While it does obey the laws of physics.

Ichigo Mashimaro - Has one of the best anime villains. It's actually similar to Lucky Star. It's both kinda about; Cute girls doing cute things.

Ouran High School Host Club will make you laugh a lot.

Lucky Star is a seemingly plotless anime, but that's what we love about it; light and great.

Hmmm... Azumanga Daioh isn't a bad choice as well.

Let me see... School Days is an anime based from an H-game (w00t), but I kinda like it and find it funny. XD

Sayonara Zetsubou sensei- currently ongoing, it has a very dark comedic feel to it, hard to express

Definetly worth checking out
Gintama -shounen/comedy

btw all these series are ongoing still

Check out some new ones

Potemayo - It's a 4-koma comic like azumanga and lucky star. A cute thing appears and goes to school. Theres some romance I think.

Doujin Work - not ecchi but the characters are drawing hentai doujin. The main character has an over protective childhood friend who follows her everywhere.

Not new but...
Kyou no Go no Ni - Only 4 OVAs. Simple slice of life school comedy. If you like this check out the manga Minami-ke which is by the same author and has an anime coming out in October.
