This won't do much to help boost IE's popularity, but IE-tan isn't really that bad.

IE-tan the character itself is whatever. However, that promotional video on the other hand is a disgrace if they actually want to promote IE or anime or whatever to a main crowd.

Dunno about your "disgrace", but from other sites the campaign seems to be working at least when it comes to promoting awareness of IE.

It should be noted though that the IE-tan campaign was strictly made by Microsoft Singapore as an AFA exclusive, and Microsoft in the rest of the world won't be using her for marketing.

What? That's it?!?!
That felt like going to the movies to watch a Pixar film, and when you get there you discover everything they'll be screening is one of those funny shorts they like to have in the beginning.

So was she fighting off ActiveX exploits? Making the world safe for Silverlight? I failed to see what the video was about.

For the final boss, I propose Richard Stallman.

Say what you will about IE-tan, but she got tech-savvy people talking about IE - and when was the last time that happened? I know she got me to actually launch IE and that has to be close to a year.

And besides, she's getting me pageviews. She's now my waifu.

South Korean Authorities Admit They Are “Behind the Times” with Internet Explorer Laws

At least many people in South Korea still use IE-tan.
