@zero: Read up on carbines

Well then I'll just say two carbines then. They can't combine though. But as said before, they already have compatibility wiht the phalanx bits so having them combine would seem like a redundant design.

Using 2 rifles was inspired from how soldiers, mostly designated marksmen needed separate rifles which allows them to engage in short-mid ranged combat and then the second rifle allows them to snipe off targets. The phalanx system makes this concept irrelevant, but Cecilia can only activate so many bits at one time.

I myself don't quite understand.

It's basically a deconstruction of "Meet cute" and "Manic pixie dream girl" in that we have titanium-balls Ichika and Tatenashi being perfect girl, except with hidden problem. The whole arc itself is s big mood maelstrom due to misunderstanding, culminating with encounter with PT member.

And they perceive it as me trying to put Tatenashi in bad place, granted there's high amount of tension but wut

Yes, the event itself was done to distract him from his hidden angst, but the harem & nakamas perceive it the wrong way. (by this point none of them knew Madoka was kidnapped, mind you)

Ichika kinda touched when Tatenashi finally shown her vulnerable side, but running away in guilt anyway, that's when he have an encounter with Autumn. When Tatenashi saw Madoka went Yandere, she is only short of having a BSOD.

If only both of them willing to talk, the crisis could be very much averted. They decided to fix it up though, and the result is V6 rescue operation.

What I hoped is to portray the "despair lead to struggle for happy end", which is the very basis of any shonen story in existence, be it grimdark or not. Apparently, I missed the essential, maybe it's the end result that's not worth the effort.

Shonen's also play straight a number of things. So far, just about everything seems to get deconstructed for angst and drama in ST.

Actually the basis of any shonen story is the act of defiance by forging your own path. The despair and the problems usually come about due to the need for an obstacle for our hero to overcome. The level of abject hardship and suffering they receive is on the level of a sadistic god. However this sadistic god is usually kicked in the nuts every now and then.

warhammer level of injustice and hardship is that these sadistic gods took a whole college course in magnificent bastardship, chessmastership and a slew of other troll related lessons just to make life as hard as possible and even if the hero does end up with something good, it usually twists into something that may possibly be worse than the first problem.Should there be a time these cosmic trolls are about to have their faces smashed in with karmic payback, they dance around it and laugh at the futile struggle of the system known as justice.

Spoiler for off topic: mostly because GN drives allow for breaking the laws of physics in motion. Like IS, they have a way of reducing G-forces exerted on the pilot. Also, the fact that its power is basically nigh-inexhaustible. Gundam SEED's highest technologies have always been more guns. Kind of. But for now, they only lose out on mobility. GNX's will probably give freedom a run for its money and ZAKU's will barely be able to fght back. Also, even if it's just Tau drives, they are basically rendered immune to physical weapons.
