I don't think it is really meaningless. Ultimately Keima just wants his job capturing lost souls to be over. Having the goddesses re-seal hell seems to him the fastest way to accomplish this.

Of course Keima is also changing slowly over time through his interaction with "the real". Who knows how he will have changed by the end of the story?

I think so. That's why I think there's no goddess in Chihiro. She is the most likely candidate to fall in love with Otamega for real.

I have thought so as well ... although I still am not 100% certain on Chihiro being the candidate who is not carrying a goddess. Something still tells me both Ayumi and Chihiro might not have them.

Just a weird hunch on my part that is most likely incorrect, though, as I am a notoriously bad guesser of this story's plot....

Nah, I think that if there are 5 goddesses in quite a close circle around Keima, the last one will be in that circle too, and it's not very likely at this point, in my opinion, that they will find another runaway-spirit carrier let's say in Keima's class during the revive-the-goddesses event.

Ehhh,

I am of the (very optimistic) opinion that, after the "Save Apollo/Kanon" arc, maybe Heaven finds out what is going on, and sends re-inforcements so that the godesses aren't locked away with the weiss again. At least I hope so. Because I agree, Keima won't just stand there and let it happen again, after he went to all the trouble to find them!

If Wakiki-sensei wants some twist, the last goddess is not in the remaining 2 girls but in another girl that is much closer but no one would have predicted it...
