[Anime] Chrno Crusade 24: Impossible ending!!
I didn't expect the ending turning out like that!!
I really can't express it without spoiling. A beautiful Rosette and Chrno death scene. Last edited by Guido; 2004-09-18 at 00:24. |

For my first post, sorry if I'd been understated.
Just that I didn't want to give away a lot. As for the finalé, the first 3/4 quarters of the episode left me mourning and sobbing. Spoiler:
However, I'm not expecting in anyways that all the general population who'll always support the manga, get pleased 100% with this ending for the anime. Why the ending seemed Impossible?! to me, you ask, was because of the happenings that occur during the last 1/4 quarter. Spoiler:

Hmmm... quite a good ending to a... errr... not-so-great series. This final episode is definitely one of the better series finales in recent anime. It's quite emotional, somehow both happy and sad at the same time, very satisfying and brings a good sense of closure. Not really as good as Gungrave's ending (which IMO is the best finale of recent anime series), but close, at least until the last 2 minutes. My only complaint is about the last 2 minutes
Spoiler for very end:
I like this ending more than the manga one. both are good, but the anime ending has more sense of closure (ignoring the last 2 minutes that is) Spoiler for rosette and chrno:

Totally agree.
The ending was excellently achievable. Sad it was but not tragic. Although, the ending cannot save the series overall from its failure, the writers did a thing right to finish Chrno Crusade with a long, remainder sense of closure. I applaud them for that, for giving us this beautiful ending that for me seemed epic just a like the ending of a literature play. (Ignoring the last two minutes, of course) However.... Spoiler:

I don't really understand the meaning of that entire part, is it supposed to give the series some "authentic" feel? yup there's indeed an assassination attempt at the Pope John Paul II in 1981, and indeed there is the Fatima Prophecy, but I think this series is far too... fantasy-ish to give any "realistic" feel anyway...
So my interpretation of the possible meaning of the very end Spoiler:
Anyway the ending is perfect up to the point Spoiler:
And I agree that even a wonderful ending can't save the show from its overall mediocrity... |

The ending was very good. I wanted a Romeo and Juilet style ending, I got it. It was done well.
I liked the very end of the ending, too. Aion is very intelligent. He must've survived using that intelligence. The fight with Chrno in episode 23 could've just been a trick to get Chrno to use his power again, meaning Rosette would die and Chrno would kill himself, leaving Aion with no-one to get in his way. Remington looked like he was no longer a part of anything in the future. Maybe the Magdalene organization no longer existed. Then, Remington would have nothing, which would explain why he looks like a tramp at the end. |

I downloaded the raw type without translation, So I can't understand fully about the last episode especailly the last.
But the last two 23 and 24 are so short cause everything happened too quickly to understand. Aion was dead after a sound of "peng". Then Rosette and Chrono disappeared as quickly as possible. (It is better that they just never come out after, I believe.) When I saw them at the next episode, it seems like they died bit by bit in the past time. (If I'm not wrong, they lived together some years, longer than a supperman can make after such a serious fight.) And the ending also confused me. People who has fought for their faith with all they have lost everything. And the one against all lives forever?! .... |

Chrono and Rosette have do their best to fight for their faith, and it's enough even die just after such a short fight? Remington is only pass by, and the only thing he could do is just watch the world changing or the successment Aion achieves? Is this understanding right? |
