Late to the show. I will be following [I-Z]'s version of this series as I was very impressed by their joint effort with [AiA] on TTGL (and was greatly saddened by their decision to drop it due to licensing issues).

Thus far, the story has been captivating, but the presence of anime-originals and alterations is a cause for worry. I hope my fears are unfounded and that the studio can rise to the occasion and actually make these differences enriching to the source material, instead of "destroying" it. Keeping my fingers crossed on this one.

Cheers.

I would like to remind people that discussing how to obtain anime RAWs is not allowed. This includes mentioning sites where you can obtain/watch anime in RAW format. Why don't we drop the subject and go back to discussing Spice and Wolf anime instead ?

I'm gonna say this again:
to those who think Horo is only 250 years old,
she's not
she's more like 800-900ish
or maybe even 1000+
i don't know how did some of the anime descriptions got the 250 orz

and don't ask me why cuz I've already received a warning for posting the reason even behind a spoiler tag OTZ
you'll find out soon enough

I think you would be surprised by the amount of people here who don't use or even know about the bittorrent site for suki. These forums are considered "the" place to discuss the latest fansubs so that does draw in a fairly large crowd by itself.

only to the 4th (chinese translation) orz
I wished I could read Japanese
but I can't
I heard the Japanese version is even better
orz again
and no sign of kadokawa tw publishing the 5th anytime soon
(at least not in February for now... )

by the way in Japan the 7th is about to come out in Feb,
sadly this one has nothing to do with the main story
its a collection of the short stories published on the magazine 電擊hp
but i think its still gonna be really really good

and please note that "Kenrou" isn't Horo's last name
it means "the wise wolf" orz

Hmm a collection of short stories... is this the first one to be done for Spice and Wolf? Perhaps the OVA episode being included with the DVDs is one short story animated?

Normally I'm a fan of this approach, but I'll admit that it does take the fun out of discussions when you're a bit late. Sure you can be like "that series was great!" but really it's rather likely anything you'd be willing to discuss has been hashed over 20 times over the course of the thread.

Now I marathon completed series but for newer stuff I just browse various threads for my latest shows of interest and see if there is anything worth commenting on or joining in discussion wise. I got a bit behind on the last half of 2007's stuff but at least this way it doesn't feel like I'm showing up to a party, ready to have some fun, but everything is winding down and guests are leaving. =\

Yeah viewing wise probably a great approach to wait until the whole thing is there and then watch in a mass assault . But do miss out on the fun discussions since all that's left by then is series overall reviews and talk on the last episode.

Guess I can live with the wait if there are talks available along the way. For some seems like I end up watching the raws just to not miss out on what people are talking about .

Great pics mikoo. Go firefox Horo version .

OP is good and ED has strange charm. The premise sounds good, va's are doing good job, no sign them sounding too much like in Code Geass.
Animation is looking good, Horo's hand transformation looked bit odd, maybe because it happened so fast.

I hope they don't spice thing with scifi elements. Nothing spoils good story as well as plot twist in the middle away. Sure OP has hints what may come, but please no flying ships .

Looks like it --- i mean it all matches up, and it's the only thing related that we know at the moment that could have something to do with that OVA mention.

I have to say that, especially in that chibi, Horo looks more fox than wolf.

But... man is she adorable in that chibi. Must... hug...
